Tasted by Jonne on 4/27/2024 & rated 92 points: Mycket mörk granat – tegelfärgad. Ogenomskinlig. Feta gardiner (14,5 procent).
Men då jeflar. (75 views)
Tasted by WineGuyX on 10/17/2022 & rated 92 points: Still a very saturated purplish black. Nose of embers, lead
pencil, charred wood, vanilla, coffee beans, roasted earth and ripe blackberries. Full-bodied and plush on the palate, this is rich and enveloping and is definitely fully mature. The fruit is being subdued by the oak, but this is still an excellent wine that would go great with smokey grilled meat. Drink now-2025. 92 (2458 views)
Tasted by Philippe_C on 9/22/2022 & rated 93 points: Nice nose of dark cherries, hint of prunes, sandalwood, cigar box… Nice taste of super silky tannin with ripe and fresh dark cherries. (1396 views)
Tasted by mianthon on 4/30/2021 & rated 92 points: Lovely wine for price, tannin still surprisingly firm but very approachable now. Overall drinking well now but could cellar longer. (3661 views)
Tasted by benlarpent on 6/7/2020 & rated 91 points: Beautiful wine. Drinking really well now. Lots of lovely dark fruit, some chocolate and coffee, a steak of acidity and lovely dusty tannins. My kind of wine in a great place now! (5023 views)
Tasted by bonedoc on 4/20/2020 & rated 92 points: Nicely done and consistent Ribero. (3332 views)
Tasted by jschnabel on 4/15/2020 & rated 91 points: This wine delivers for the price. Deep garnet in color it shows dark blue fruits on the nose with a hint of flint and wet stone. The tannins are medium but the acidity is there and makes it a vivacious quaff. Notes of dark cherry and prunes with a cedar and licorice finish. Drinking really well now. (2465 views)
Tasted by SouthernStateofMind on 7/10/2019: Deep ruby in color presenting aromas of mixed red/black fruits, liquorice, vanilla and cedar. On the palate; flavors of red/black cherry, cranberry, red currant and prune are accompanied with muted notes of baking spice, cocoa and cedar. Beautifully balanced; bright fruit is equalized with energetic acidity providing excellent lift and volume. Rewards with long dry evenly distributed finish. Excellent RdD! (3155 views)
Tasted by Higgie on 4/6/2019 & rated 90 points: Always a safe bet! (2767 views)
Tasted by Osiris021 on 3/17/2019 & rated 93 points: No formal notes. Still quite young. (1836 views)
Tasted by appel54 on 2/8/2019 & rated 91 points: Vinröd, tät kärna

Lite sötfruktig, eukalyptus?, mint?, fatat, körsbär, kaffe, rostat, smörkola, svarta vinbär

Torrt, strävt, tanninrik, vaniljig, lite alkoholvarm

Ett väldigt gott vin som alltid levererar. (2036 views)
Tasted by K&J on 1/17/2019 & rated 95 points: A very spectacular wine! Well balanced, nice nose, exquisite palate. Perfect example of a Ribera del Duero. (2508 views)
Tasted by andrewdodd86 on 11/20/2018 & rated 95 points: Tobacco, dill, cedar, vanilla. Dark blackberry. A touch meaty, almost a really light version of “Cayuse Funk” (2235 views)
Tasted by andrewdodd86 on 11/16/2018 & rated 95 points: Beautiful. Cherry, vanilla, touch of tobacco, cinnamon, cocoa, dried leaves. Very modern Spanish profile for sure. Dark dark fruit. Less dusty tannin, but chalky at first but decanting helped. 2018-2030 (1664 views)
Tasted by Serge Birbrair on 11/4/2018: ready to enjoy, or keep for some more, it's all good (2117 views)
Tasted by Roland67 on 9/21/2018 & rated 92 points: Decant for 1 hour. Very inviting nose with cedar and oak but also some almost flower aromas. On the palate blackberry, plums and prunes. Beautiful finesse and complexity in a very long finish. Still some acidity but in good balance with the fruit. A very fine composition and fully mature now (with a decant) and I presume it will drink well for next 5-7 years still. Excellent wine for steak or pot-roast dish. I really enjoy this. 92-93P (2002 views)
Tasted by Periko on 7/28/2018 & rated 90 points: Red cherries and licorice on nose. Palate it's quite tamed now, slightly mineral, plenty of red fruit. Elegant and nice to drink, still has some fat to lose. Overall, a good wine that shows just a bit heavy and in the end, somehow boring. Wait and see. (2276 views)
Tasted by WineGuyX on 6/20/2018 & rated 91 points: Nice aroma of black fruits, spice and cedary oak. Fresh, silky palate with excellent quality tannin and bright acidity. Loaded with wild blueberry and backberry fruit as well as more spices and of course, oak. Excellent now, this shows no signs of age and should drink well for another 4-6 years. 91 (2215 views)
Tasted by dafmd on 5/27/2018 & rated 94 points: PnP: Dark ruby, medium bodied , sweet tannins wrapped around nice spine of acidity; opens up nicely vanilla, spices, dark fruit, cedar; very satisfying finish (2162 views)
Tasted by bonedoc on 3/25/2018 & rated 91 points: Well done, decent fruit, balanced. Drink or hold 5+ yrs. (2987 views)
Tasted by Endodr on 3/21/2017 & rated 91 points: What a great wine and excellent QPR. It's dark ruby/purple in color with an ample nose of blackberries, creme de cassis, mocha, and tobacco. This wine tastes lush with black and blue fruit, chocolate, and licorice. It's big and dense with a rich mouthfeel, finishing with a long silky finish. (6484 views)
Tasted by Conde on 2/5/2017 & rated 89 points: Bra och gott vin men fortfarande lite för ungt. Tasted by jesperarent on 11/25/2016 & rated 92 points: An excellent wine! Also I wish I had more...
Buy again. Offer for 250 Dkr when buying 6 at theis wine.
Such a pleasure to drink - but expect kraftig wine.
In a great balance now - drink now. (4306 views)
Tasted by rossi.wine on 2/27/2016 & rated 94 points: Very dark in colour, almost inky. On the nose concentrated and very rich, dark fruit, creamy oak, liquorice and spices. On the palate sweet and rich again but the balance is surprisingly good - certainly modern in style, but not flabby or overdone. Great finish. I would keep this for a couple of more years. 93-94+ (7431 views)

Tempranillo

Varietal character (Appellation America) | TAPAS: Tempranillo Advocates, Producers and Amigos Society

Tempranillo is the premium red wine grape variety from the Rioja and Ribera del Duero region in Spain. Tempranillo's aromas and flavors often combine elements of berryish fruit, herbaceousness, and an earthy-leathery minerality. Being low in acidity and sugar content, it is commonly blended with Carignan (Mazuela), Grenache (Garnacha), Graciano, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

WineAccess
The varietal is at its best in top Riojas, where oak aging is employed to generate increased complexity and harmony. From the best sites, these wines can be remarkably concentrated with great aging potential. New wines from this region are darker, and more robust, with more dynamic primary fruit flavors than traditionally styled examples. These wines seem to reflect the influence of Spain's other key region for Tempranillo, Ribera del Duero. Regardless of style, Riojas tend to be medium bodied wines, with more acid than tannins. These wines generally feature Tempranillo blended with Garancha, Mazuelo, and Graciano. For these wines, there are three quality levels, which will appear on the label. Everyday drinking wines fall under the category of "Crianza", "Reserva" denotes more complex and concentrated wines, and "Gran Reserva" refers to the most intense wines, made only in the best years.

The same labeling scheme applies to wines from Ribera del Duero, which, like Rioja, is dominated by Tempranillo and shares similar blending grapes. Again, Ribera del Duero wines are generally darker and more powerful than the most traditional Riojas. These wines also generally see less oak treatment than Riojas. From Rioja, we like wines from Allende, Marqués de Cáceres, Montecillo, and Cune. In Ribera del Duero, consider Dominio de Pingus, Emilio Moro, Convento San Francisco, and Pesquera.
Pair older-style Rioja with simple meats like chicken, leg of lamb, and pork loin. However, the newer style of Rioja and Ribera del Duero works especially well with bolder meat dishes or an aged Spanish cheese like Manchego or Idiazabal.

Spain

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
