Tasted by WaltnMicki on 8/2/2021 & rated 92 points: Smooth. Cherry on he front, tobacco on the finish. Nice clarity and complexity. Aged well. (2844 views)

Tasted by LaMora98 on 12/24/2020: Excellent. Paired nicely with the beef tenderloin for Christmas Eve dinner con famiglia. Cheers! (3281 views)
Tasted by rbfoote on 7/2/2020 & rated 88 points: Decent pop and pour. Easy to drink - not much body but the flavours do come through after sitting open for a while. (2724 views)
Tasted by alabunka on 6/4/2020 & rated 87 points: very decent sippable and enjoyable red - kmicho below says it very well....and yes virtualkly no tannins or harshness - which is usually found at these price levels.... (1784 views)
Tasted by kmicho on 4/28/2020 & rated 87 points: A pretty good qpr wine. Inexpensive Cab that is well balanced. Virtually no tannins. Plum, ripe fruit, muddled berries. A little wet cedar. Not anything to impress people with, but a really solid daily drinker with meats, red sauce pastas and the like. (1613 views)
Tasted by optioninvestor on 10/27/2019 & rated 86 points: Nice Bordeaux style red - boysenberries strong on the nose, but little else. Not very complex, but very nice and easy to drink. Finish is crisp, if a little simple and short-lived. Great table choice if you have a lot of them; appears to have a little more time left on the ticker. (2790 views)
Tasted by cgags47 on 10/19/2019 & rated 90 points: Not overly tannic, very balanced blend. True to life for Bordeaux blends. Would recommend with hearty meals and red meats. (2597 views)
Tasted by Cadby on 8/27/2019 & rated 87 points: Like a Toyota Corolla “S”...serviceable, a wee bit better than than standard, but in the end...boring. (2300 views)
Tasted by Kevin Staveley on 7/27/2019 & rated 88 points: The wine when poured looked purplish red in color. The legs were medium to long. This wine to the nose & mouth gave off hints of oak & vanilla. A very enjoyable wine. (2358 views)
Tasted by jtonglet on 3/19/2019 & rated 85 points: A very easy drinking wine. At price point could be a good house red. There is nothing complex about this wine but there's really nothing bad, either. Smooth and palatable. Paired well with roast beef po-boys. (2913 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 1/28/2019 & rated 91 points: Always a tasty sure bet with week night burgers for less than $14 ! Gots to grab some more. Alc is a modest 13.5% by CA standards but I always make sure that when drinking any big CA red the starting temp is sub 60 degrees :). (2946 views)
Tasted by Madera16 on 1/6/2019: Alcoholic, watery, slightly sweet, cherry candy finish. Not satisfying in any way. (2367 views)
Tasted by TRguy on 12/23/2018 & rated 85 points: Nice ripe black cherry with pepper finish on back end. Still needs to open up a bit. Would benefit from another year of aging because tannins a bit tight. Great legs and nice color. (2169 views)
Tasted by Winefab on 12/11/2018 & rated 81 points: Great for the price (2240 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 10/31/2018 & rated 91 points: At the risk of being repetitively boring I'm really impressed and smitten with this wine for the mere $11 I shelled out. Hell, I'd be impressed if it was $30! The winery really has this 77% Cabernet Sauvignon 19% Petit Verdot 3% Cabernet Franc 1% Merlot blend dialed in. In the context of the usual CA Cab blend, I love the weight, depth, restraint and balance. Aged 12 months in French oak but shows so well integrated. PnP and slow ox for 3 hours or so before dinner. Spent 30 minutes in the frig and served around high 50s - low 60s. Immediately accessible and delicious. Semi opaque ruby red color. The blend adds depth and interest at a price point where my expectations are usually pretty low. This wine is exceedingly well balanced and tasty. Aromas of tobacco, dark berries and smoke. Tobacco carries over to the palate where we pick up cherry, boysenberry, dark chocolate, expresso and faint minerality. There is enough lift to keep this from ever feeling ponderous. 13.5% alc but taste & feels sub 13%. Perfect with sloppy Joes tonight. (2807 views)
Tasted by Muledog71 on 10/24/2018 & rated 88 points: Very serviceable weekday wine! (1902 views)
Tasted by fmiskolc on 10/13/2018 & rated 91 points: Good quality with some pleasant attributes.

Tasted by Rainbear32 on 6/24/2018 & rated 81 points: Mild nose, but really good structure. The Cab is great and the supporting cast does a marvelous job (3558 views)
Tasted by retired_and_roving on 6/14/2018 & rated 83 points: PnP - this was a gifted bottle and seemed like the right thing to open as the 4th bottle of the night. While I may not have been wowed by the '08 Ghost Block and '08 Harris Indulgence - this was just a huge step down. Sort of in the mass produced category - nothing distinctive other than some heat and bitterness. A dump the glass situation for me. (3253 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 6/12/2018 & rated 90 points: Another perfect match with weeknight burgers on the Weber charcoal grill. Love the weight, depth, restraint and balance of this BDX blend! And... 13% Alc is rare in CA. $11 price point rocks! (3606 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 6/4/2018 & rated 90 points: Winery says a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon 19% Petit Verdot 3% Cabernet Franc 1% Merlot. Aged 12 months in French oak. PnP and slow ox for an 30 minutes or so before dinner. Immediately accessible and delicious. Semi opaque ruby red color. I think the blend adds depth and interest at a price point where my expectations are usually pretty low. A steal at $11 and I'll be back for more. Great with simple summer fair like burgers. 13.5% alc but taste & feels sub 13% 90pts+ (3302 views)
Tasted by wdlohr on 5/25/2018 & rated 87 points: rich strong aroma, a bit strong, dark, full pepper (2789 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
