Tasted by Cellarmaiden on 7/30/2023 & rated 90 points: Drinking our second to last bottle as I write. The wine has been cellared for about 17 years at 60-62 degrees F, and the fruit is still great, tannins soft and spice just enough. We are incredibly happy that Tapestry Shiraz has lasted this long and we look forward drinking our last of the case (99 views)
Tasted by Spartan517 on 11/12/2016 & rated 90 points: - Brick color with medium forming legs - Dark and thick, berry and jam, very smooth. All Oak the harsh original oak is gone. Drinking with some homemade steak pizza, great combo. Probably just past peak but I'm glad I still have 3 bottles left. I'll be drinking the, soon. (1117 views)
Tasted by Spartan517 on 8/24/2014: - Purple color with slow forming legs. It's balanced with a full body. Silky texture with a medium finish - Yummy... Still big and thick, but has smoothed out quite a bit. Very dark and opaque. Lots of plum, berry, and licorice. Drank with ribeye and grilled veggies. (1639 views)
Tasted by Urodude on 11/18/2013 & rated 79 points: Way past prime (1846 views)
Tasted by MindMuse on 10/28/2011 & rated 82 points: Been pulling some things that might be past their time. Like this one.
Not holding up well. Unbalanced toward grainy oak. (2589 views)
Tasted by jeffal66 on 5/29/2010 & rated 89 points: Very good weekend BBQ wine. Drinking well now. If the big jam was here, it certainly calmed down to its current form. Nicely balanced. (2744 views)
Tasted by *Vine* on 10/12/2008 & rated 87 points: Popped and poured. Dark in glass, the aromas of plum, coconut, and a touch of smoke & game are very much correct for this varietal. Medium body, this wine is fairly smooth and mellow at this point in it's life, the cocoa tinged black fruits accented by dill and cedar, no doubt influenced by American oak. Tannins are present but have settled down from release. A nice Shiraz, if a bit on the simple side. (2681 views)
Tasted by cmr on 3/1/2008 & rated 84 points: Overall very simple. Oak that was very present when first tasted 2 years ago has settled but it's taken on an herbaceous quality as has a previous bottle I had which I personally don't like. (2030 views)
Tasted by french16 on 1/21/2008 & rated 87 points: Big, on the border on being over ripe, plenty of blackberry, liquorice and coffee cake.... Kind of wine you like to have 2 sips and then it is pretty boring. Very Aussie... (1930 views)
Tasted by Dulcie and Aylwin on 10/7/2007: Picked this up for $5 at Randolph Wine Cellars - a decent price indeed. Initial response was jammy, jammy. Hot ripe and sweet. I liked this style (surprisingly) whereas the ultra sophisticate Dulcie (her left-bank leanings) did not. (1833 views)
Tasted by JohnnyWine on 3/8/2007 & rated 90 points: Mmmm... very nice. Drank with pork loin and sautéed vegetables. This wine had wonderful aromas of dark cherry and a little bit of smoke in the background. Tastes of blackberry with oaky vanilla and smoke. Inky thickness and mouthfeel was well received. This wine was a very nice pairing with dinner. (2161 views)
Tasted by Hernando Andy on 2/22/2007: turned (2183 views)
Tasted by DoubleMagnum on 12/19/2006: Big wine, understand why it scores high but not my style. A bit too meaty or gamey, but well balanced, not a bad wine just not my favorite. (2238 views)
Tasted by kcsteve on 11/10/2006 & rated 88 points: Scent of fruit and cedar. Nice mouth feel, a little lighter than the dark ruby color indicates. Good fruit on tasting with a bit of smoke. For the price, this was a nice bottle, but it was over oaked for my taste. This is definitely a bottle for BBQ. Maybe it would have been better to wait a bit on this bottle. (2613 views)
Tasted by cmr on 11/4/2006 flawed bottle: Cooked bottle. (2398 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 9/2/2006 & rated 87 points: Opened by a friend during a cookout. Deep garnet color with a urple tint. Notes of leather, blueberry and smoke. Lots of darj fruit on the palate, but it has a thin, almost watery mouthfeel. (2476 views)
Tasted by MikeW on 5/16/2006 & rated 88 points: A very smooth Shiraz with lots of fruit and a nice finish. (2991 views)
