The tastes are sweet cherries, blackberry jam, fig, vanilla, mocha, black olive, cedar, pepper, and sweet spice. This is full bodied and fruit forward with furry tannins and a long finish. Smells are blackberry, olive, vanilla, pepper, and dark chocolate. The tastes are blackberry, black licorice, pepper, dark chocolate, and olive notes. There was an underlying sweetness to this wine that masked the tannins in this wine, like dates. Still young and slightly tannic, but I am confident this wine can go the distance for many more years.
