Tasted by jviz on 1/8/2024 & rated 94 points: Really excellent wine in a perfect space. It has plateaued in my estimation, with notes of green to golden apple, some sliced almond, brioche, and faint nuances of candied ginger. Outstanding. (628 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 12/8/2023: To celebrate 19yrs of Poker.
The crusty end of a croissant. Brown butter. Candied and fresh. This has - load more time ahead of it. Easily drink to 2035-40 (464 views)
Tasted by konadog on 1/1/2023 & rated 93 points: Baked apples, faint hints of bread dough. Still a very lively mousse (1179 views)
Tasted by Cristiano_s71 on 11/2/2021 & rated 100 points: Beautiful taste. Aged in an amazing way! Perfect pair with my 50th birthday ! Wish I had some more bottle saved (2142 views)
Tasted by moutondoc on 10/7/2021 & rated 94 points: I’ll take this any day over paying $$$$ for big brother Salon. It’s so wonderful. Not over the hill yet IMO. Beautiful lemon custard notes. Fine sublime bubbles. (2393 views)
Tasted by Nanda on 9/13/2021 & rated 91 points: Starting to show some age as the fruit is showing some bruised and earthy character. Still plenty of zing and energy on the palate, but the flavor profile is starting to tip into that secondary zone. (2505 views)
Tasted by sburtt on 7/24/2021 & rated 91 points: this was my last bottle of a case of 6, and I must admit that 91 is a generous score, the wine in flawless, great bobble, however it doesn't really excite me, it lacks some minerality and I had older NV from Ruinart and Roederer capable of giving better emotions, however this is a good wine (2365 views)
Tasted by Xavier94 on 6/7/2021 & rated 93 points: I remember trying this beauty in the 2008 vintage a little back and quite frankly, I was surprised (tasted blind) by how young this showed, though it opens up beautifully!! Super classy, pure with tight energy; lemony, salty citrus-based aromas and flavors with chalky minerality that develops really nicely. Floral perfume in the mouth provides interest to the otherwise fine, linear fruit. Widens with air time and should age very well. A few people thought it could be an '08 Blanc de Blancs. (2374 views)
Tasted by jmoore431 on 6/6/2021 & rated 92 points: Medium straw color with very fine bead; clean, fresh and crisp style, yet soft; hints of vanilla, pastry and lemon zest; stony, white flowers, good acidity; very youthful and reeks of class; way too easy to drink, it keeps drawing you back for another sip. Excellent! 92+ (1703 views)
Tasted by sburtt on 5/15/2021 & rated 91 points: no signs of time, good but not great, flattish nose, but might be simply this bottle, as others of the same vintage were much more expressive (1456 views)
Tasted by Mr T on 4/19/2021: Last great bottle

Wish I had more (1580 views)
Tasted by TXRhoneRanger on 4/13/2021 & rated 92 points: Pretty nice wine even at this stage in life. Easter Sunday 2021. We must have enjoyed it fast because I didn't have a tasting note from it, but I know we enjoyed it with some delicious deviled eggs. (1457 views)
Tasted by achim_berg@icloud.com on 2/20/2021 & rated 92 points: Mature, smooth and balanced. Felt much more developed than the 2008 and 2012 that I had recently. More of a food companion rather than an appetizer. Delicious. (1442 views)
Tasted by RED AND BLACK on 2/14/2021 & rated 91 points: Light yellow, lots of bubbles, good acidity and overall balanced. Seems young compared to other 2004. If you like more developed notes of vintage champagne, wait for this a few more years. Fresh, good mousse but only a good wine, no wow (1460 views)
Tasted by Vinophiliac559 on 2/13/2021: Developed nose showing baked apple tart, subtle lemon, honey, bead is fine and persistent, palate was creamy with with sweeter ripe red apple, baked pastry, nice acid, decent complexity and drinking great right now. Delamotte really hits the mark for me with a little age. (1463 views)
Tasted by Mr T on 11/8/2020: Fantastic bottle.....popped this Friday night to celebrate what we believed/hoped would be Biden's victory. Deeply chilled and personally loved the way it drank, icy cold with sharp, precise flavors. Terrific (1769 views)
Tasted by sburtt on 5/17/2020: flawed? this bottle was flat, if it wasn't that i has this bottle before I would say nothing special, but I think it was flawed (1943 views)
Tasted by amc on 3/24/2020 & rated 92 points: This was lovely. Has a rich hint of yeast/brioche at the beginning, with a fruit blossom aroma on the palate, soft citrus notes on the finish -- initially a bit disjointed. Very fine mousse that gives this bottle an extraordinary foamy mouthfeel. After some time the blossom and citrus aromas became seamlessly integrated which improved the finish. (801 views)
Tasted by Vinophiliac559 on 2/13/2020 & rated 92 points: Nose with light autolytics and lemon, full mousse, fine bead with persistent effervesce in the mouth, palate had a touch of honey, ripe apple, subtle citrus and even more subtle autolytic notes, good acidity, medium body, feels a touch sweet on attack perhaps a bigger dosage? Overall showing great, still not at full maturity, will aim for 2024 for my next bottle. 91-92+ (1935 views)
Tasted by sburtt on 1/3/2020 & rated 94 points: Lovely bottle, complex, balanced, fine bubble, yeasts perfectly integrated and good maturity now, in a great spot, enjoyed this more than the 2007 vintagr (2086 views)
Tasted by sburtt on 12/6/2019 & rated 92 points: very fine bobble, lovely nose, lovely complexity and elegance, however I prefer the acidity of the 2007 vintage even if less complex and structured, because I feel this 2004 has a higher sugar content on the palate, anyhow both lovely wines and this 2004 is is a great drinking spot (2106 views)
Tasted by steinersing on 10/24/2019 & rated 92 points: very good acidity, clean. (2184 views)
Tasted by wineismylife on 10/19/2019 & rated 92 points: WIML92

Tasted non blind.

Straw color in the glass, clear looking throughout with tiny, steady beading. Nose of toast, ginger and yellow pears. Flavors of brandied pears and lemon. Bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Madison offline. (1677 views)
Tasted by petitblanc on 9/13/2019 & rated 94 points: Superb bottle, refreshing and clean as always. (1843 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 7/22/2019 & rated 91 points: Youthful, almost painfully so, but this was quite a pleasure nonetheless. The nose was very BdB, with white fruit, lemons and mineral touched with a bit of yeast. On the palate, a fine mousse and bright acidity frames an easygoing mouthful of white melons and sweet lemon flavours. There was a nice depth and balance to it, making it a delight to drink. This will be very nice in a decade or so. (2102 views)

Le Champagne (Le comité interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne) | Grandes Marques & Maisons de Champagne (Union des Maisons de Champagne)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.
Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
