Very nice and unique flavors. 92+ at least. (2080 views) | | Tasted by Lilja on 10/24/2014 & rated 92 points: FW-BYOB-HT#2: ¤FW - This is one weird wine! Nose points in all directions. There is some Bordeaux/super tuscan cabernet. Ceder and blackcurrants together with some almost synthetic fruit, melons, lime, pears and cherries. High intensity on the palate with distinct tannins and acidity. Full bodied with a long finish. Quirky, but high quality! Really fun to taste blind! (2744 views) | | Tasted by Rexel on 10/23/2014 & rated 93 points: Byob Gbg. Nose, blackcurrant, fruity, melon...... Taste fruity, long finish with medium tannins and acidity. Fun to taste blind. One more bottle, open 2016-17 (1639 views) | | Tasted by robertek on 1/31/2014 & rated 90 points: Fun wine to try blind and quite good. Ready to drink but will last longer. (2059 views) | | Tasted by Rexel on 9/13/2013 & rated 92 points: Yes, rich, fruity. Little bit closed (just opened it). Great and i am glad that i have tio more! (1618 views) | | Tasted by Mingestrom on 11/25/2012 & rated 89 points: rich blend of mixed fruit, quite sweet and spicy. Plum and Cherries needs decanting, a bit closed but good fruit and long. (1112 views) | | Tasted by Tad GW on 10/21/2011 & rated 89 points: The vintage is put in 2.0.0.7. to get around silly laws for this sort of wine and it is composed of Dolcetto10%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%, Petit Verdot5%, Barbera 20%, Nebbiolo 20% and Syrah 5%. This kitchen sink blend is good but I wonder why bother? Given the tremendous quality of the other Altare wines, the single varietal ones, why bother experimenting with French varietals?
The centre of the glass is black and a ruby/fuschia closer to the rim. Wonderful baked cake, cherry and ripe plum scents waft from the glass and it tastes of sweet black cherries and blackberries with sweetness and concentration. Very nice.
50+5+11+16+7=89 (1345 views) | | Tasted by isbjoern on 1/27/2011 & rated 91 points: Delicious mix of red and dark fruits, very spicy and beautiful smooth texture. A very elegant wine. - 91 points (1392 views) | | Tasted by isbjoern on 1/27/2010 & rated 89 points: Unattractive cheesy, sweaty foot nose. Very dense, smooth and balanced on the palate. Black cherries and plums. Hint of chocolate. Excellent if it wasn't for this weird nose. Hopefully it fades with time. - 89+ points (1382 views) |
