Tasted by BMG Wine on 11/29/2011 & rated 91 points: Outstanding bubbly for decorating the house for Christmas. Beautiful golden color. Tiny bubbles. Citrus, bread and mineral nose. Smooth tropical fruit flavors with a yeasty midpalate. Quite delicious sipped all by itself. My family always has a tradition of drinking sparkling wine while decorating for the holidays! (4065 views)
Tasted by Zitan on 1/1/2011 & rated 92 points: Charming, light, fresh and elegant. Lovely golden color. A pleasant surprise. Not at all tired. (4775 views)
Tasted by burgundybrooks on 7/9/2010 & rated 90 points: Lovely acidity, small bubbles, touch green apple, - will hold a couple more years to see toastiness develop (4926 views)
Tasted by Cheryl on 1/5/2010: First Tuesday NV Small Producers vs Domestic Sparkling Wines: Nose - candied sweet nose, hint of oxidation, Palate - bigger body than Egly Ouriet NV VP and longer finish. For the price differential, I'd buy this. Ok+ (5542 views)
Tasted by Wineasaurus Rex on 4/6/2009 & rated 90 points: Crisp and bright bubbly. Perfect for a spring day. Would be excellent with spring veggies, hollandaise, or lemon custard. Better flavours than many of the NV Frenchies at a lower price. (5562 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 1/17/2009 & rated 89 points: Persistent mousse. Pale yellow color. Aromas of citrus fruit, apple and ginger. Flavors of apple and biscuit, with nice citrus tones on the finish. Excellent. 89-90 pts. (2402 views)
Tasted by vancouvermatt on 1/2/2009 & rated 90 points: Yeasty, with citrus notes and crisp acidity. (2269 views)
Tasted by Haut Brion on 12/28/2008: ***. Green apple with slight hint of toast. Simple sweet and rigth amount of acidity for easy drinking with seafood dishes. Good value sparkling. (2307 views)
Tasted by Reyman on 11/4/2008 & rated 91 points: Drank on election night--tasted a bit sweeter than I was expecting. It has a nice toasty richness and a touch of coconut on the palate, along with apple and pear. This is one of the better values I have come across for sparkling wine. (2521 views)
Tasted by samer on 10/11/2008 & rated 91 points: light with a slight nuttiness on the tongue, a hint of sweetness but balanced with some tartness...a truly great rival to Champagne at an excelelnt price (2280 views)
Tasted by bjohnson350 on 7/3/2008 & rated 88 points: Good but common feeling. lemon, and peach. It's not real long and the finish is a little dry for me. Good for the price. (2370 views)

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
