Tasted by rogerdatii on 2/23/2014 & rated 86 points: semi tantalizing finish reminiscence of good sangiovese, and season texture on palate, grapes from well matured vines. Seems to perform better with more vintage time (going on 6-7 years storage cellar) however intensity of mid palate is lost and wine is totally smooth. Perfect gift or relaxing evening wine drink right now, I stored cork down and let sit 6hs before opening.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like prune, fig, mushroom and clove. It tastes like black currant (cassis), blackberry, medium toast, cedar and nutmeg. The body is light/medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.  Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 11/29/2012 & rated 88 points: Muted nose of dark fruit & tar. Really tight. Opened a bit after 3-4 hours but still faint nose. Tart dark fruit and graphite on initial taste with just a touch of leather. Nice drying tannins on the abbreviated finish. (2134 views)
Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 5/5/2011 & rated 88 points: Little change from last. Has not really come together yet (3377 views)
Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 7/21/2010 & rated 87 points: Little change from last (3843 views)
Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 9/13/2009 & rated 87 points: dark fruit faint on nose a palate early with a sour cherry finish. After two hours fruit opens up to the palate and a long soft finish evolves. (4282 views)
Tasted by gmbdds on 7/21/2009 & rated 87 points: Nose of cherry and blueberry. The fruit continues on the palate though it's a bit thin. The acidity made for a nice wine for lasagna. (3171 views)
Tasted by rdelf on 6/23/2009 & rated 86 points: Heavy tannin that didn't let up until the very end. Rock and Dry Cherry at the End. (2904 views)
Tasted by boegemann on 8/17/2007 & rated 89 points: Needs a healthy does of breathing. Give 2 hours at least. Nice dark berry flavors. Smooth, wooly tannins (3285 views)
Tasted by futronic on 1/26/2007 & rated 88 points: Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Dark ruby with black tinges. Aromas of vanilla, toffee, and blackcurrant. Full-bodied, with vanilla/wood, blackcurrant. Good acidity. Moderate finish, ~35s, with black fruit and vanilla. Softened a little over the course of two hours in a decanter. (3154 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
