Tasted by merryberry on 11/10/2012 & rated 91 points: Pure dark ruby red. Blueberry, warm oak, nutmeg and cinnamon nose. Very nice. Medium bodied, blackberries, chocolate cherries, white pepper, cedar, well integrated tannins, smoke, and a dry, medium to long finish. Really exceeds its price point. (2982 views)
Tasted by OlympicSho on 6/9/2012 & rated 95 points: Very good. Smooth. Buy. (3400 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 7/12/2011 & rated 87 points: This wine (a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 18% Syrah and 6% Merlot) was splash-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing two hours. Deep ruby in color, the nose shows immediately expressive aromas of blackberries, vanilla and tree bark. Medium-to-full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, medium sweet tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%). The flavors are black fruit and mineral dominated, but there is a slight green element. The middle palate is solid and leads to a medium-length finish which is a bit tart. While my wife and I consumed this wine at home, it would otherwise be perfect to sip on a weeknight as you watch the sun set into the Pacific. Nice for the price, but not a "weekend wine". Drink now-12/15. (3875 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 7/12/2011 & rated 86 points: Sonoma in the City Tasting: 220 wines tasted from 72 producers (Westin St. Francis Grand Ballroom, San Francisco, California): Cassis, plum nose; sugary, ripe cassis, ripe berry palate; medium finish (51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 18% Syrah, 6% Merlot) (3093 views)
Tasted by Ali2615 on 5/18/2011 & rated 86 points: Dark berries, coffee, mint, pine. Restrained (cool climate), but well balanced. (4061 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
