Tasted by tewino on 2/4/2021: Simple but fresh and balanced right when the cork came out. After 2 hours the nose has blossomed into some nice Puligny minerals. Getting rather interesting as it sits in the glass. Nice zippy balance. As good as many village and some 1er PM's I've had. Better than I expected which was pretty high already in light of the producer which I love. (654 views)
Tasted by aaronwine on 4/2/2018 & rated 89 points: Drinking nicely. Needs some air to open up. Good as expected from this producer but not exceptional. Still has time to develop further. (1386 views)
Tasted by Vinomark on 4/28/2015 & rated 88 points: Yes, a Villages Bourgogne can use more time as this is declassified P-M fruit and the vintage needs time. Good but will get better with another 2+ years age. (2738 views)
Tasted by MatthewF on 4/15/2015 flawed bottle: Corked (2977 views)
Tasted by eschaefer on 2/26/2015 & rated 88 points: Nicely hued greenish gold tint. Meduim bodied but lacking on nose and palate. Reminded me more of an austere Chablis rather than a village burgundy. Green pear and apple flavors with a hint of vanilla. I like Paul Pernot generally but this was a pedestrian effort. (2852 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 10/12/2014 & rated 91 points: This entry-level Pernot offering shows well above its pedigree. Straw-colored and brimming with lemon zest, white peach, wet stone and floral aromas, it follows with a light-to-medium-bodied, crisply acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13%) palate with flavors mirroring the nose. The wine is beautifully layered in the middle and (perhaps most impressive) is fresh and long on the finish. This is certainly one of the best quality-to-price ratio wines that an oenophile can procure. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years. Drink now-2018. (2999 views)
Tasted by Weston3220 on 10/2/2014: An Excllent QPR, taste like burgundy, refreshing, with texture and body, a fantastic buy (2278 views)
Tasted by Weston3220 on 7/20/2014: youthful, tsaty but I think also needs a year or two side ways before trying again (1462 views)
Tasted by Weston3220 on 7/18/2014: liked def a Bourgogne Blanc village, but tasty easy drinking (1453 views)
Tasted by Frijole on 5/19/2014: medium gold, lots of clarity, silvery hue
Nose: pear, fennel, honey, minerals, thyme
Pal: pear, lime, white pepper, honey, minerals, musk, floral, thyme, touch oak
Feel: medium, savory
Finish: medium
TC8 (could be a 9, surprisingly) (1517 views)
Tasted by snowman94114 on 5/5/2014: good to very good. too much oak for my taste. drinking well now. lots of body. 89 pts. (1330 views)
Tasted by BLSausTX on 4/4/2014 & rated 92 points: EYE: pale straw w/hints of white gold->watery rim, L conc, star bright, L visc
NOSE: M intensity, chalky minerality! white flowers & white stone fruit, w/hints of citrus, orange melon, vanillin
PALATE: tart stone fruit & citrus w/bright acidity yet smooth mouth-feel mid-palate fades to melon, vanillin/oak notes on finish. M+ acid, M alc (13% ABV, feels hotter), M+ finish, M+ complexity
OVERALL: what a great pure white burgundy for the price - delicate on the nose yet power on the palate and strong finish reflective of Puligny (1335 views)
Tasted by western on 4/4/2014 & rated 89 points: Very good Bourgogne. Light clear gold color. Nose offers up citrus, honey and spice. On palate lovely fruit balanced by nice mineral acidity. (1339 views)
Tasted by Weston3220 on 3/31/2014: No Official tsating note drank couple weeks ago lovely young good QPR white Burg (1281 views)
Tasted by anonymoose12345 on 3/8/2014 & rated 90 points: Declassified Puligny Montrachet from younger vines. Tart, apple, citrus, minerals, medium bodied.Bit oaky on the finish. Overall fantastic especially for $22. (1204 views)
Tasted by Martin Redmond on 3/8/2014 & rated 90 points: La Paulée Burgundy Week Tasting at K&L Wine Merchants (K&L Wine Merchants(Redwood City, CA)): Aromas of apple, guava, citrus and a kiss of melon. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with vibrant acidity, and a great mouth feel. It shows apple, lime, melon, mineral and a bit of spiced lemon flavors. Long finish. Declassified Puligny Montrachet from younger vines. Definitely over-delivers at $22. (1795 views)
Tasted by MatthewF on 1/18/2014: A very consistent Bourgogne year after year, but I think this is Pernot's best yet. Fantastic density and concentration for this level. Ripe peach with some lime peel and a touch of lemon. Somewhat tropical. Vibrant and full of energy on the palate. Well balanced with good structure and acidity. I picked up a case of this and look forward to watching this evolve over the next few years. (1239 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
