Tasted by vinolovers on 5/28/2022 & rated 94 points: Still has a very dark, almost inky purple, color. Lots of black fruit, especially blackberry, with plum and boysenberry. Rich mouth feel and incredibly smooth. Maybe peaking? (255 views)
Tasted by vinolovers on 12/6/2020 & rated 94 points: Opened about 45 minutes before pouring. Did not decant. A dark, almost blackberry coloring when served. Very Rich mouth feel with lots of plum, and blackberry notes. Incredibly smooth, but might improve with a couple more years. (467 views)
Tasted by timfh on 12/13/2015 & rated 94 points: I thought these were all gone but found one in a cabinet under the bar. I opened it tonight and, as I drank it, I looked at the details on cellar tracker, purchase price, cost, and reviews. The last review seemed a bit high when I first tasted the wine, but was on target after the wine had been opened for two hours. An interesting and long finish bringing to mind ripe plums including their skin. (2452 views)
Tasted by sbfireman on 11/8/2015 & rated 94 points: haven't visited this juice in some time and I surely did miss her! Fruit on the front end but the tannins are restrained. Sad to see this one be my last. A great trip across the pond for some fine juice. (2571 views)
Tasted by CHINACAT on 9/18/2015 & rated 87 points: Dark violet color. Fragrant nose. Still lots of fruit, a bit of complexity, but quite harsh tannins. This bottle seemed like it needed more time. (2399 views)
Tasted by halprewitt on 7/19/2015 & rated 91 points: Nice priorat. Easy to drink out of bottle...no decant. Appears to be good value comparing to others. (2620 views)
Tasted by vinolovers on 10/18/2014 & rated 92 points: Nice dark coloring when poured. Subdued black fruits, along with some plum notes. A well structured wine with some grip but the tannins have faded. Smooth and ready to drink. (2501 views)
Tasted by bjamesclark on 7/6/2014 & rated 91 points: Decanted 3+ Hours
Dark red in color with a watery meniscus. Viscosity is high and the slow falling legs hold the color moderately. This is showing moderate+ concentration and bright reflections.
Grenache dominate aromas present with moderate+ intensity. Jammy fruit aromas of strawberry and raspberry with notes of plum, wild berry and fig. Non fruit aromas of spice, mineral, leather, brandy and anise.
The palate is focused and drinking well. Acid is moderate+. The ripe tannins are moderate. This wine has medium+ mid palate density, and a smooth full texture. Flavors of ripe plum, and fig mix with dried strawberry and raspberry upfront then notes of slate, licorice, and leather quickly take over. additional flavors of leaf tobacco, spice and menthol. The finish is long with moderate/moderate+ intensity that lingers on mineral and plum.
should be able to go a few more years, but drinking very well now. (1322 views)
Tasted by philipmac on 12/27/2013 & rated 91 points: Decanted for 2 hours. The fruit gets more pronounced as it opens more. Can also get a sense of the rocky soil of Priorat in the juice. I noticed this consistency with others I have tasted from that region. For those who have never had wine from Priorat, give this bottling a chance to experiment with. Much more elegant the longer it is open. (1656 views)
Tasted by MDRwinos on 11/25/2013 & rated 90 points: Crowd fav. Relatively easy drinking. Somewhat less fruit than earlier bottles but still tastey. Will not age any further so drink 'em if you've got 'em. (1582 views)
Tasted by robmillis on 11/10/2013: Not good. Tasted cooked, poured down the drain, though this has been well cared for since purchase. Last bottle was great, so no score on this one. (1560 views)
Tasted by jfaulk on 5/1/2013 & rated 90 points: Excellent sipper! (1591 views)
Tasted by metldr on 3/8/2013: Excellent priorat. Drank both with paella and friends at home. Lovely flavors, wonderful example of grenache. (1400 views)
Tasted by robmillis on 2/18/2013 & rated 87 points: currant, licorice, blackberry. not amazing, but nice. as another pointed out, the high alcohol content was very much under control, not noticeable to me at all. (1224 views)
Tasted by jrglm on 2/13/2013 & rated 89 points: Very nice wine. Ready to drink. (1183 views)
Tasted by MDRwinos on 10/5/2012 & rated 90 points: Solid drink. A bit hot at opening. Give it :30 (1512 views)
Tasted by jfaulk on 9/20/2012 & rated 91 points: Pleasantly surprised. Nice balance all around. I was surprised when I read the label - 15% alchol, but very much in check. Nice fruit & support. Only bought 2 bottles - would enjoy more (1363 views)

Tasted by MDRwinos on 7/25/2012 & rated 90 points: Consistently good. A bit of heat on open but quickly dissipates. Fruit forward but not overbearing. Good bottle at the price point. (1320 views)
Tasted by sbfireman on 2/21/2012 flawed bottle: Normally a true favorite. Sad this was off so much. (1796 views)
Tasted by MDRwinos on 11/6/2011 & rated 90 points: Open and allow to breathe for 30-45 minutes. A bit young but still a solid drinking wine. (1615 views)

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
