Tasted by moxey1 on 9/25/2010: Shared @ wine dinner (2389 views)
Tasted by Rob Mathews on 4/8/2009: Drank a while back but forgot to submit note. Nothing special here...a thin SB with poor character. (2565 views)
Tasted by Ombibulous on 11/21/2008 & rated 79 points: Second half-bottle. Still not much to my liking. High average (78.5). (2470 views)
Tasted by 1800kidney on 9/1/2008 & rated 88 points: solid sauvignon (Ribbit yourself)...not too grassy but seemed a bit closed up..definite citrus elements, even grapefruit..not near any sort of peak (2479 views)
Tasted by ursus62 on 6/30/2008 & rated 88 points: We really like this winery and this varietal. Strong citrus with hints of grass and even a little vanilla. A reliable release from an underrated Napa producer. We buy this every year and will continue to do so. (1065 views)
Tasted by whits on 5/15/2008 & rated 78 points: pretty light, even for a sb, food-friendly, although not much personality, the acid is standard, there is some citrus and grass in the flavor, though not much complexity, over-priced (1056 views)
Tasted by Ombibulous on 4/20/2008 & rated 77 points: Artificial closure (preferable). Very light straw colour. The aroma is strange and has a whif of warm, wet kitty litter instead of cat pee. The flavour has the same odd defect. I do not care for this taste, but perhaps it's not sufficiently chilled. High average (77.5). (1070 views)
Tasted by GA on 1/19/2008 & rated 86 points: 1/08 Light acidic citric attack with a soft structured oak finish. 86 pts. (1092 views)

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
