 Tasted by JJYoyo on 11/16/2023 & rated 93 points: Walk around tasting. Very expressive nose of dark berries, tomato leaf, pencil lead, dried herbs. Very cab franc on the palate cassis, black cherry, black olive and a little bell pepper. Surprisingly resolved tannins and lower acidity feel than I expected. Exotic and magnificent.

 Tasted by B Paul on 9/9/2023: Drinking lovely, though still relatively youthful. Classic Cab Franc here with the silky texture and high pedigree expected from Rougeard. Looks like I have another bottle of this, which I’ll probably wait at least a couple of years on. (1499 views)
 Tasted by Eriklainen on 5/29/2023: What a perfumed nose. This is so exciting. Bellpepper, blueberries, violets, lilacs and a million different other flowers I don't know the name of. Like a garden. Things change on the palate - fruit is really fading. Needs drinking up. Can't see this getting any better. But the nose... wow (1958 views)
 Tasted by ccn on 4/29/2023 & rated 91 points: Extremely interesting and intellectual wine. Bell pepper in the attack, very elegant, with a great bright acidity. Never quite came together with a slightly missing mid palate , and suffered by comparison to the 2014 what was the richer and more complete wine, but a joy to drink as well. At a perfect point in its evolution, with a fruit, acid, minerals, and the beginnings of some secondary aromas. (2099 views)

👃More detailed with red fruit, 5 spice, ash, green leaves & purple flowers. Elegant & seductive
👅Silky and classy. Med body. Great finish. Needs a touch more midpalate intensity but it is refined, charming and irresistible

Still drinking well but not hitting all of the subtle notes

 Tasted by Wine Canuck on 9/24/2022 & rated 95 points: Montreal 2022; 9/23/2022-9/25/2022 (Montreal): This pours light ruby in the glass. The nose is immediately expressive and complex, showing an extremely classical, gorgeous, and immaculate Loire Cab Franc profile. The nose is of green tobacco leaf, fresh black currant, charcoal, gravel, ripe black raspberry, shrubby herbs, burlap, cigar ash, and leather. Awesome nose. The palate is elegant and pure silk entering on the gorgeous black currants turning to medium minus tannin and medium acid with lovely purity and caressing texture. The finish is long recalling much of the nose. Just amazing and a fabulous first Clos Rougeard experience. (2340 views)

Lacks the usual depth despite the red peppers and “noble” vegetal aromas, bottle mot as good as the last one i had of this 2012. (2125 views)

Savoureux et bien équilibré, ce n’est pas le plus profond ou long, mais il a néanmoins la finesse et ce côté envoûtant des vins du domaine. Très satisfaisant et bien meilleur qu'en 2020. 92 pts (2342 views)
 Tasted by NickA on 2/11/2022 & rated 95 points: Cabernet Franc turned up to 11! I hadn't previously tried this famous producer, and wondered whether the reputation was deserved... well, it does seem to be. Very concentrated; one might describe the wine as full-bodied, but that would be to underplay its weightless quality. Incredibly perfumed, and deliciously so, like an earthy, fruity, extra-savoury Bloody Mary; I have had Bordeaux that smells similarly, but not at this relatively young age, and rarely with such perfect, compelling balance of aromas. Slightly less exciting on the palate, though again with excellent balance, making it extremely food-friendly. Out of my usual price range, alas, but Rougeard is definitely 'on the list' now. Melange enivrant de petits fruits rouges, poivron noble ( prend tout son sens ici), legeres épices. Le vin est plutot délicat qur sur une grosse concentration, mais le tout est fort jolie et bien typé cab franc. On comprend le Hype, et pour le prix paye c’est excellent. (2320 views)

Slightly herbaceous, a bit of green pepper, but a very pure and elegant fruit that gives this Cabernet Franc a sensual and seductive texture. Medium-bodiel, nice length and very balanced. Both muscular and intellectual. Positively charming. Very much looking forward to trying a 2012 Poyeux, and even more a 2012 Bourg in a couple of years. (2309 views)

What a nice bottle, classy and elegant vegetal and green pepper notes that only Rougeard can do as a signature. Everything is there, class, texture, contained power, fruit, length, balance, gorgeous. (2628 views)
 Tasted by mye on 5/30/2021: Initially a hint of green pepper, vegetal herbal note that's typical of the variety. With air, the wine expresses this potpourri of red berries fruit and earth.  Tasted by Mazy on 7/22/2020 & rated 90 points: PNP. J'ai trouvé l'accord de choix pour la longe de porc fumée! Le côté fumé de la viande vient aplanir les notes végétales du vin. Il en ressort une bombe de fruits rouges, principalement les cerises, avec une grande profondeur et complexité. On retrouve le côté tannique, légèrement acidulé et végétal du vin après le repas.
