Tasted by Zweder on 8/29/2023 & rated 92 points: Expressive bouquet with yellow fruits like pineapple. On the palate ripe apples, good acidity, a mouth full of good wine with some pleasant bitterness and a great length. (404 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 8/26/2020: From 375ml, this is so fresh under screwcap. There are smoky mineral notes along with fresh apple and pear fruits. It has a hint of honey development and is full in the mouth with some nuttiness. The finish is dry and long. (1129 views)
Tasted by concord on 12/23/2018: Still drinking exceptionally well, not past its best, still lots of good fruit. (1195 views)
Tasted by concord on 1/22/2017: Honey on the nose. Well rounded juicy stone fruit, with some minerality. Still drinking well and no immediate hurry to drink up. (1749 views)
Tasted by finewinebuff57 on 5/24/2016 & rated 90 points: From a bottle and as others have observed beginning to show some mature notes, but of course plenty of time in hand. An interesting contrast with the 2011 from a half the previous evening. As always with Baumard faultless winemaking (1937 views)
Tasted by Gfaerie on 11/17/2015: bright yellow reflections. Nice long legs. Smells like an old chalky chenin with lemon, asparagus and lots of minerals. Full bodied and finishes long.

A real classic and one of my favorietes (1858 views)
Tasted by Barry G on 9/26/2015 & rated 90 points: Nicely aged. Creamy texture, full bodied and softening fruit. Not going to last much longer but v enjoyable now. (1655 views)
Tasted by finewinebuff57 on 1/9/2015 & rated 89 points: Off dry (of course), slightly muted chenin nose, but good length and minerality. Surprisingly low acidity and this is certainly ready (prematurely?) (1655 views)
Tasted by latimer on 3/21/2014 & rated 89 points: Half Bottle
Nice bright yellow. Quite a big nose, definite stony, green fruit chenin blanc, but with something else, almost a touch of botrytis? Oily, quite rich, very mineral, impressive for a half aged 7, but the finish is a bit hard & bitter. Good but at present the finish takes away somewhat. Not sure if it will soften out with more age? Great value though. (1553 views)
Tasted by vespasian on 6/28/2013 & rated 93 points: Amazingly complex nose with honeyed minerals and earth, so unbelievably mineral, and so intense; gorgeous palate, cool and savoury with lovely acidity and balance. Elegant and full of finesse. Great finish - this is a truly fine wine and a bargain vs something from the Cote de Beaune. (1713 views)
Tasted by tendring on 8/20/2012 & rated 92 points: Very light colour.
Fabulous nose with a bit of maturity.
Very mineral taste. (1045 views)

Savennières

Savennières is a small, relatively well-known Loire Valley region producing wines made from the chenin blanc grape.

They are not conventionally fruity, and benefit from extensive aging.

Savennieres often have smells like white truffles and animal notes, even when young. They can last for a tremendous amount of time, and some people mistake the evolved aromas after 10-20 years with oxidization, but I have yet to taste an oxidised chenin blanc, since the amount and type of acidity (many g/l and tartaric) preserve the fruit in a much more effective way than e.g. chardonnay.
