A fruitful, light but fit body. Flavours of black currant, tar, a bit unpleasent leather and some chewing gum (cassis). Still a bit hard tannins. I guess in 6 months a bit better. It might have got a certain headace potential. I only had a 0,375. Lucky me.

Fresh and forward without at all being over-ripe. Follows through onto palate, along with a little green stalkyness/under-ripness - in the context a good thing, adding structure and interest, although also a jarring astringency to the acid, which renders it funky rather than fresh. Overall, well judged and fine for an odd glass with food, but the poor quality of the acid on the finish detracts heavily from the whole. Simple red fruit profile of strawberry, cherry and raspberry. Ripe fruit without much complexity. Almost tastes manufactured (almost), but then it comes across as merely rustic. Easy to drink with food. Easy going "cheap" wine. Got better on day two, with some olive tapenade notes peeking through. (5511 views) |
