Tasted by DannyTWhatItBe on 2/14/2018 & rated 74 points: Waited too long on this one... was bland. (1398 views)
Tasted by nefarm on 2/18/2017 & rated 87 points: Drank with friends. Unfortunately, this bottle was past its prime. Lacking tannins and fruit. Some improvement after air time, but it's done. (2041 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 2/12/2016 & rated 92 points: Decanted 1 hour no sediment, gave this an 87 back in August8, 2014, what a difference a bottle makes or maybe it was the 19 months or both. This bottle was very good, plenty of black cherry, sweet currants, dark ripe plum, hints of dark cocoa, totally integrated tannins, low acidity and ready for action. Classic Napa cab in every aspect, absolutly delicious! (2819 views)
Tasted by Aparritz on 4/22/2015 & rated 93 points: Wow this was good. Decanted for an hour plus and the wine really opened up. Smooth silky dark fruit with vanilla and restrained but noticeable oak. Long finish with great complexity. Crowd pleaser for the sophisticated palette and a wonderful representation of top tier Napa cab without a huge price tag. (3148 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 8/1/2014 & rated 87 points: Decanted 1/2 hr, big, rustic, some blackberry, anise, black licorice, harsh, disjointed, lacks balance. (3709 views)
Tasted by Seneg on 11/28/2013 & rated 90 points: Nice after an hour breezing (3403 views)
Tasted by DanielJ on 11/7/2013 & rated 90 points: Big bright lots of fruit. Flavor of cherry. (2849 views)
Tasted by hunteje on 11/6/2013 & rated 88 points: The wine looks Ruby colored. The legs are Slow. It smells like Blackberry, Blueberry, Black currant (cassis), Coffee, Cedar, Black Pepper, Black Pepper, and Tobacco. (2341 views)
Tasted by partylikeakennedy on 10/25/2013 & rated 93 points: Lovely. Especially the finish! (2367 views)
Tasted by icury on 8/27/2013 & rated 88 points: Better after an hour's time. (1834 views)
Tasted by Seneg on 7/18/2013 & rated 89 points: May benefit from breezing a couple of hours before drinking. Great body. (1331 views)
Tasted by DanielJ on 3/18/2013 & rated 91 points: Big cab. Very fruit forward. Great balance. Flavors of cherry and blackberry. A touch sweet. Long finish. (1635 views)
Tasted by timdrex on 1/15/2013 & rated 89 points: Substantial noes of bright cherry-somewhat overpowering to its balance. (1736 views)
Tasted by Oakjeff on 12/20/2012 & rated 91 points: Nose has a tobacco edge to it. Flavor is of black fruits with a hint of bell pepper. A small bit of spice on the finish. Went well with TriTip. (1720 views)
Tasted by UMhemePA on 11/4/2012 & rated 91 points: Deep red color, bright, nose is full of cherry and not over oaked, smells a bit hot but resolved with decanting. tastes, more fruit forward not overly tannic, well balanced, good mouth feel with a firm mid palate that was hinted with black currant, blackberries and cherry. overall great wine. (1786 views)
Tasted by timdrex on 3/16/2012 & rated 89 points: Bright cherry, little oak (2622 views)
Tasted by pdnelson7 on 12/31/2011 & rated 85 points: Less depth than I like. Quiet aroma and finish, but a reasonably enjoyable fruity balance on the palate. The wine has good structure and should gain some depth over time. Not great bang for the buck in my opinion. (2879 views)
Tasted by Ombibulous on 12/10/2011 & rated 84 points: Black. Nice nose. Extremely tannic, which bodes well for those who like to age their Cali Cabs. Still too young for my taste. Chewy tannins, yes, but I prefer them a little sandpapered to soften the rough edges. Good, *so far* (83.5). (2755 views)
Tasted by DanielJ on 11/18/2011 & rated 90 points: very pleasant, well balanced, nice fruit. Maybe needs a few years to develop more complexity (2811 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 9/13/2011: Maybe a bit reductive. Again, or as with the Merlot, more structure than I was thinking it would be. 87% cab, 10% franc, 3% verdot. And kinda tastes franc driven with its aromatics. (2850 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 7/31/2011 & rated 90 points: Joseph George 71st Anniversary Tasting (Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, California): Very dark red violet color; deep, cassis, plum nose; tight, ripe cassis, tart plum palate; needs 1-2 years; medium-plus finish (3073 views)
Tasted by Cuniuses on 5/8/2011 & rated 85 points: - Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of vanilla and almond and has flavours of blackberry and cherry - Drinking well now. Slightly acidic, bold, mid priced cab. (3118 views)
Tasted by Fpgdoyle on 4/27/2011 & rated 90 points: At the Vineyard. (3297 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
