Tasted by vlzat on 7/2/2013 & rated 79 points: Light body, pale lemon color, aromatic, fresh tropical fruits aroma, tropical fruits and green apples on the palate, honey on finish, refreshing on long finish, well balanced, low acidity, food friendly. Well drinking with smoked Salmon, shrimps and Mediterranean vegetables. Serve 8º - 10º. Drink now. (1035 views)
Tasted by peterchoy on 11/22/2011 & rated 86 points: Appearance: Bright and clear, medium (-) intensity lemon-green, wide watery rims and legs
Nose: Clean, medium intensity and youthful aromas of pear, grass, elderflower, lime, green bell pepper.
Palate: Dry, with medium acidity and medium alcohol. Medium (-) body with medium intensity of grapefruit, lime, pear, grass and medium (-) length.
Conclusion: Acceptable Rueda white with good aromatic nose through quite simple. A bit bitter on the palate which is the characteristics of Verdejo variety. Relatively short length and not particularly strong in both palate and nose, this wine is ready to drink now and not intend for ageing. (4869 views)
Tasted by bonjovibon on 9/11/2011 & rated 91 points: I'm not keen on verdejo but I have to admit that this one suprise me. You can find almost everything that you ask to this variety. Even the bitter taste at finish. Also it has a really qpr price. (6343 views)
Tasted by Harley1199 on 7/30/2011: A lot of Verdejo this summer, at my parents home even. Clean, pale colour. Timid on the nose, only some lemon bark. Really nice palate with hay, fresh grasss and a sweet (defect?) finish. We have better examples than this bottle. Pairing a muffled hake.

(6544 views)
Tasted by Jozefs on 7/28/2011 & rated 90 points: Lemon, pear, ripe apple, lemon herb on the nose and the palate; very balanced, expressive, aromatic, refreshing... very good quality for its price, a pleasure to drink. Better on the second day. (6322 views)
Tasted by gatame on 7/19/2011 & rated 82 points: Similarities to Sauvignon Blanc. Zippy acidity, light+ body, dry, somewhat bitter, decently lengthy finish. Smells like herbs, citrus, and sand. Lime, grapefruit, and herbs on the palate. Definitely better with food. (6122 views)
Tasted by ragnhild on 6/28/2011: Drank with friends for dinner, very nice wine, and went well with chicken, pasta and cream sauce (4073 views)
Tasted by dssmith on 6/9/2011 & rated 75 points: This is a light white wine with a marked bitterness. The overall flavor profile is grapefruit. There is no oak or tannin. The wine is ok but not to my taste. (2598 views)
Tasted by pjaines on 6/4/2011: Holiday in Spain - a glut of Spanish Wines; 5/28/2011-6/6/2011 (Southern Spain): Smells and tasted like cat pee. (3610 views)
Tasted by Harley1199 on 2/23/2011: Why to spend so much money buying boring NZ SB when we have this Verdejo gems here? Herby, limony, refreshing and with a watery texture. Good vintage indeed. Balanced. Lovely bitterness when finishing. At Pitoñi restaurant, CR with my women-shy Antonio, paring a fresh Dover sole. Check it out! Both wine and restaurant.

Verdejo

Verdejo thrives in Northwestern Castile continental climate and gravel soils. The grape gives aromatic wines, often soft with body.
Wines take on a slightly yellowish color, with a youthful, greenish hue. A crisp and fresh white variety with grassy notes, a touch of fruit and excellent level of acidity. The extract, a key factor when assessing the personality of great white wines, is perceived through its volume and its characteristic bitter touch, which leaves a glint of originality in the mouth, accompanied by a rich fruity expression. These wines are harmonious, and their aftertaste invites to go on drinking.

Spain

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
