Community Tasting Notes (average 92 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 3 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by wormfarmer on 10/1/2023: Cellar stowaway; past its prime, unfortunately. (Oddly (or not), older Peachy Canyon Zins from this same "barn find" have held up quite well.) (130 views)
Tasted by Power Forward on 8/11/2015 & rated 92 points: Paired with bbq baby back ribs. Glad I let this one age a bit. Smooth yet zin fruity. (758 views)
Tasted by Rockne on 10/2/2013 & rated 92 points: Freaking good. Hadn't had a PC or a zin in a while and loved everything about this. The finish will stik with me or a while. (1184 views)

Peachy Canyon

Producer website

Located in beautiful Paso Robles, Peachy Canyon is a small family owned winery on the Central Coast of California. Experience the acclaimed wines of Paso Robles Westside at Peachy Canyon Winery. The winery has been family owned and operated since 1988 by the Beckett family. Located on California’s Central Coast, there are two tasting rooms open to sample our award winning wines. Although Zinfandels dominate the Peachy Canyon tasting menu, you will find Cabernets, Merlots, and special blends that are available to sample. Each wine poses unique characteristics with distinguished qualities and is why the whole Peachy Canyon team works so hard to pick only the best Paso Robles fruit while supporting the local growers. Doug Beckett also makes sure 'each wine is released in the peak of its youth,' the Becketts feel they give their customers the choice to either enjoy the wines young or cellar them for a later date.

Snow

Peachy Canyon wine label (2009): The Snow Vineyard is one of four Estate Vineyards located six miles west of Paso Robles on Vista Serrano Road. This head-pruned vineyard is approximately 27 years old and produces some of the finest low-yield fruit in the country.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
