Tasted by discoverwine on 2/5/2014 & rated 90 points: Delicious. Well balanced. Nice rhone for a great price. (1545 views)
Tasted by roasted hill on 1/25/2014: musky forest floor nose, with short legs. surprisingly fruit forward cherry and strawberry that ends in the midpalate with leathery hints. nice even alone and better with dinner. drink up! (1653 views)
Tasted by ecola on 3/12/2012 & rated 89 points: Aromas and flavors of red cherry and strawberry. Drinking really well right now and probably for another year or so. I like the candied fruit feel here. Moderate tannins. A little one dimensional, but it tastes pretty good. (2358 views)
Tasted by DrT999 on 3/10/2012 & rated 87 points: Nice dark cherry on the nose and throughout. Not a lot of length, but what there was was more than pleasant, but nothing special. (2668 views)
Tasted by M.Batard on 5/29/2011 & rated 88 points: CD brought to TWS. Fruitier than the Vacqueras or the Vinsobres. Moist dirt on the nose as well, though. Seemed slightly less well-balanced than the others, with high alcohol perhaps the culprit. (2702 views)
Tasted by ecola on 2/3/2011 & rated 89 points: Aromas of meat and strawberry, with a little cedar. Medium body with strawberry and cherry flavors with some dirty earth mixed in. I like the intensity of flavor while being light in weight. This also has a cool label. ($17) (1635 views)
Tasted by Muchacho on 11/8/2010 & rated 87 points: good stuff, nothing to flip out over. went well with stuffed acorn squash (1561 views)
Tasted by DesMarteau on 7/3/2010 & rated 86 points: syrah like...simple, nice quaffer (1443 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
