Touch of honey, oak and vibrancy. Said Pinot Blanc on the label but was undescript in the bottle. Underwhelmed but still liked it overall. (2478 views) | | Tasted by ghobby on 7/29/2013 & rated 89 points: - Yellow gold color. (1806 views) | | Tasted by C. Schuur on 4/15/2013 & rated 89 points: This Pinot Blanc has a clear, bright golden hue with a medium concentration with little color variation in the rim. Moderate aromas of orange blossoms, lemon, lime and mild evergreen tones. Medium body, Medium+ Acidity with Lemon meringue, Lime, green apple and spice on the palate and a medium+ finish (1766 views) | | Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 4/12/2013 & rated 90 points: Robert Foley Wines (The Wine Spot): Despite the age, this is still pretty fresh and vibrant. Very nice peach aromas with a medium, slightly oily body. The palate has peaches and a bit of minerals, although this is more in the rich, fruity category. It would make nice sipping this summer. (2243 views) | | Tasted by StainedGlass on 2/14/2013 & rated 88 points: Medium yellow color. Round but light bosch pear and peach notes. Moderate acidity counterbalances the fruit. Enjoyable by itself; almost quaffable. No oak. (1609 views) | | Tasted by Gabe on 2/11/2013 & rated 90 points: Consistent with other reviewers. A nice white that has a fair bit going on at the price point. An interesting wine and goes along with Bob's comment that he only makes whites that he likes to drink. (1112 views) | | Tasted by TannicBeast on 1/12/2013 & rated 90 points: Had it at a tasting hosted by Robert Foley. A surprisingly good wine, with peach, pear and floral aromas. The palate is dry and consistent with the nose. The acidity is medium, the alcohol is medium to medium plus at 13.5%. The body, flavor intensity and length are all medium plus. It is made from 30+ year old vines near Yountville. IT sees no oak and no malo, but is aged on its lees in steel. Overall, this is a very rounded, balanced wine which is very similar to an Alsatian Pinot Blanc. It is quite quaffable now and should be fine for another year or so. A good value for such a sophisticated wine. (879 views) | | Tasted by 52winelover on 8/15/2012 & rated 90 points: Dry not sweet. Light and enjoyable. (1136 views) | | Tasted by brianngibson on 3/27/2012 & rated 90 points: Solid crisp white sipper. (1432 views) | | Tasted by Syuchno on 9/17/2011 & rated 88 points: Smooth finish. Yellow fruit (1691 views) | | Tasted by beezer6 on 7/18/2011 & rated 91 points: Surprisingly good wine. Green nose. Key lime apples, medium body. Finishes nice with yellow fruit. A little minerals but fruit driven as a whole. Nice. (1677 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |
| Robert Foley Producer websitePinot Blanc Varietal character (Appellation America)USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
