Yeasty but will crisp fresh cherry fruit, nice minerals, persistant acid on its medium length finish. Lovely juice. (2520 views) | | Tasted by drwine2001 on 1/31/2016: Pale salmon. Interesting mix of strawberry and herbs. Low but perceptible dosage and bracingly mineral finish. (1799 views) | | Tasted by Oakwine on 1/1/2014: - Salmon color. It's in total harmony with a medium body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish - New Year's Eve 2013. Lovely with grill roasted chicken. This was not as fruit driven as I thought it would be. More earthy, nutty and worked well with the smokiness of the chicken. (2450 views) | | Tasted by Neurowine1 on 12/26/2012 & rated 92 points: Wow! Tahoe, Christmas day, outside in a snowstorm in the jacuzzi... Well i suppose anything would have been lovely, but this is truly the good stuff. Gorgeous peachy salmon color and wild strawberry nose. Fantastic creamy mouthfeel. Vibrant acidity, red fruits, medium length finish. Very sexy wine that exceeded my expectations. (2916 views) | | Tasted by last chance on 4/22/2011 & rated 93 points: Wow, this was a really nice Grower Rose! This was an eye opener for me. The wine had a really nice mousse, and a nice strawberry or raspberry accent to the yeastiness. Nice acidity without any hint of tartness. This was a huge hit with me, and a wine that I will be on the lookout for as it may have changed how I really felt about drinking Champagne... Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.Champagne Grand CruChampagne |
