(888 views) | | Tasted by Squashed grape on 9/2/2014 & rated 70 points: The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. It smells like cranberry. It tastes like stoniness. The body is light/medium. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity. (5000 views) | | Tasted by guy12 on 10/5/2013 & rated 82 points: some varietal flavour, good qpr still a bit ahead of it (6047 views) | | Tasted by wine-enthusiast on 11/18/2012 & rated 86 points: Sweet oak and bay leaf note this wine. It has a nice cabernet character, medium body, and a hint of green olive note. The coonawarra characteristics are not readily apparent in this wine although the fruit is very nice. At $ 12 a bottle it is a very nice wine. It is medium bodied, has a nice generous feel and is not thin in my opinion. Goes well with steak. (7570 views) | | Tasted by ToniTony on 7/24/2012 & rated 83 points: Flat, little taste (7757 views) | | Tasted by davidwhitedc on 6/6/2012: Wine Reviews: An Assortment of Cabernet Sauvignons: SRP: $13. The nose smells medicinal – think sweet cherry Robitussin with a shot of alcohol. The palate is a big improvement, but the wine tastes artificial. (7854 views) | | Tasted by MB Ben on 5/23/2012 & rated 80 points: Surprisingly translucent for an Aussie Cab. Medium to full bodied. Something GREEN on the palate and not a good green. A distinct green peppery flavor that dominates over fruit flavors. Flawed? Not sure but not very good. (3683 views) | | Tasted by paletti on 2/14/2012 & rated 86 points: Black olives and berries om the nose. Thin palate, dark fruit, cedar. Old world style food wine from New World. (1636 views) | | Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 1/13/2012 & rated 81 points: Thin, weak, sweetish, hollow, short. I fear that the "typical regional characteristics of mint and blackberry aromas with generous ripe cassis flavours and a hint of black olive" are strictly back label only. Rather a let-down after the exellent Chardonnay Reserve 2010 tasted the other day. (1728 views) | | Tasted by Twjonckheere on 1/6/2012 & rated 81 points: Decent and easy to drink wine. Quite mild for a Cabernet. Nothing exceptional, but it's pleasant. (1724 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

| Jacob's Creek Producer WebsiteCabernet SauvignonCabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.
Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet SauvignonReserve The Wine News | Wine Country This Week | Wine Lover's PageAustralia Wine Australia (Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation) | Australian Wines (Wikipedia)South Australia South Australian Wine Industry Association | South Australian Wines (Wikipedia)Limestone Coast Limestone CoastCoonawarra Coonawarra |
