Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 95 pts. and median of 95 pts. in 5 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by alittle on 3/9/2013 flawed bottle: Super Tasting 3 of 6; Dave Does a Mixed Bag (Dave's House): Very oxidative, tastes 20 years too old. Dumped. Batting 33% on this one. (2368 views)
Tasted by Wine Canuck on 3/9/2013 flawed bottle: Dave's Super Tasting (3 of 6) (Dave's House): Strangely tasted like butternut quash. A strange flaw. Did not drink. (2407 views)
Tasted by Dave Canada on 3/9/2013 flawed bottle: Super Tasting 3 of 6 - Dave's Epic Dinner (Kitchener, Ontario): This was a mess....oxidized. As Andrew noted...I am 1 for 3 on this. (2599 views)
Tasted by alittle on 3/9/2012 flawed bottle: DoktaP, JoeG and Basecadet Visit KW (Dave's House): Popped and poured. Deep golden colour, seemingly more oxidized than the last bottle. On the nose, mashed pumpkin flesh, honey, herbs. Overall quite vegetal and oxidative. On the palate, lacking acidity, very cloying and unpleasant. Not consistent with the prior bottle. There was definitely something wrong with this. (3230 views)
Tasted by alittle on 9/18/2011 & rated 95 points: Andrew's 27th Birthday (Dave's House): An exceptionally rare bottle, that does not typically see distribution anywhere in the world. This was put up for sale by LCBO Vintages, following a Beaucastel tasting event where most of the 36 bottles that made it outside the Chateau were consumed. Beautiful amber colour in the glass. Notes of orange rind, honeycomb and spice. Viscous texture, with a pleasant level of sweetness on the palate, and balancing acidity. (3646 views)
