Tasted by BigTex22 on 3/28/2013 & rated 88 points: This is a fun fruity Pinot Gris. Inexpensive and easy to drink. My wife and I really enjoy this - great on those warm Texas days! GOOD. (3785 views)
Tasted by BigTex22 on 2/17/2013 & rated 90 points: This is a fun inexpensive pinot gris. Very flavorful and crisp - this is a winner on a warm sunny day. GOOD. (3804 views)
Tasted by Merengue on 8/30/2012 & rated 87 points: Simple, easy drinker, don't look for too much in the nose or palate but its tasty for warm summer days. A tad watery the second night but a predominant passion fruit note remained. (4640 views)
Tasted by ey1294 on 7/5/2012 & rated 87 points: - Light gold color with medium forming legs and aromas of melon and honey. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of baker's yeast, vanilla and lemon with a light body. Bright texture with a medium finish. (4609 views)
Tasted by arenner on 7/4/2012 & rated 90 points: I liked it. Very nice crisp summer wine with pear/melon/pineapple overtones. Not bad for ~$10. (2072 views)
Tasted by Tim221 on 7/4/2012 & rated 84 points: A good wine, but not exceptional.. in fact, didn't hit the standards of the King Estate Pinot Gris (the next level up). Okay bouquet, okay flavors, light flavor. (4766 views)
Tasted by Tim221 on 6/8/2012 & rated 84 points: Good wine, I really like Pinot Gris, but the King Estate label is a better quality Pinot Gris. So while we think this is a good Pinot Gris, it just isn't as exceptional as the King Estate product, or other higher quality wines. It is light and refreshing, mid-level acid and a crisp apple flavor. (2035 views)
Tasted by bbeissler on 5/27/2012 & rated 92 points: This is a very crisp and refreshing summer wine. On the bouquet there are hints of tropical fruits and tart citrus with a slight vanilla aroma. Again on the palate we have citrus notes with green apple, very slight oak, and flavors of freshly cut grass. A very nice white wine, especially for the price point. (1801 views)
Tasted by Jobu on 4/15/2012 & rated 88 points: Not complex. Light with pear/melon flavors. Crisp and refreshing. Not bad for $10 - $12. Probably better with food. Seems like a good pairing on a warm summer day with grilled fish or mussels. (1977 views)
Tasted by Mike Kopanski on 4/11/2012 & rated 89 points: This is a very special wine. They made it in a soft, fresh, and approachable style that really emphasizes the fruit qualities. It also has a touch of residual sugar, that combined with a relatively low alcohol content, brings us a really lively, vibrant, and quite unique wine. The color is golden yellow. The nose is fresh white fruit, some orchard like pear and apple, some tropical, like orange, and kiwi, and some earthy like honeydew melon. These same fruits explode with flavor across the palate in a way that wine rarely does. There is a nice tangerine flavor that is close to the taste of a Torrontes. The touch of sweetness really enhances the fruit and brings it up a notch or two. The acid is by no means overpowering, but does the job balancing the massive fruit. Just a touch of spice at the back of the palate. The finish is almost orange juice like, in a good way. (2023 views)
Tasted by Drial14 on 2/12/2012 & rated 85 points: My first PG and I liked. Great warm weather drink. (2296 views)
Tasted by Drial14 on 1/7/2012: - Yellow color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of peach and apple with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish - Easy drinking. Good with light meals or by itself. (2342 views)
Tasted by sipnwine on 12/12/2011 & rated 85 points: H2H with a 2010 Petit Frelyon Bordeaux Blanc. Wife preferred the Pinto Gris, I liked the Blanc.

Pinot Gris

From Pinot Gris Wikipedia entry:
Wines made from the Pinot gris vary greatly and are dependent on the region and wine making style they are from. Alsatian Pinot gris are medium to full bodied wines with a rich, somewhat floral bouquet. They tend to be spicy in comparisons with other Pinot gris. While most Pinot gris are meant to be consumed early, Alsatian Pinot gris can age well. German Pinot gris are more full-bodied with a balance of acidity and slight sweetness. In Oregon the wines are medium bodied with a yellow to copper-pink color and aromas of pear, apple, and/or melon. In California, the Pinot gris are more light bodied with a crisp, refreshing taste with some pepper and arugula notes. The Pinot grigio style of Italy is a light-bodied, often lean wine that is light in color with sometimes spritzy flavors that can be crisp and acidic. Although this wine can be very sweet, it will begin to lose its acidity when it is nearly ripe.

Pinot gris is considered an "early to market wine" that can be bottled and out on the market within 4–12 weeks after fermentation.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.
