Tasted by juffer on 2/11/2023 & rated 92 points: Amazing how this is still drinking well in 2023! Still gives the impression of raspberries in the nose and mouth. Good acidity that seems well integrated in the finish. (179 views)
Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 11/3/2016 & rated 91 points: Sticking with my prior reviews but this is holding up well. Probably has a couple more years but sadly, I have but one more bottle. (1026 views)
Tasted by juffer on 3/22/2015 & rated 92 points: Wow! This wine has really come around. Tannins have matured nicely, while all of the fruit and acids are still present. Nose has really opened up. Raspberry with savory spices (more so than the usual cooking spices) and herbs in the nose. Paired really well with spicy pork. Can't believe this was $12. Fantastic QPR for that, and with this in mind am raising my score from 91 to 92. (2002 views)
Tasted by vinodolphin on 9/20/2014 & rated 90 points: Consistently tasty. This is my last bottle. (2637 views)
Tasted by vinodolphin on 9/1/2014 & rated 91 points: What a difference a year and a half make. This wine was good early last year but a real treat this year. Could have rated it higher. Smooth dark fruit that was perfect with a roasted chicken. Great QPR. (2534 views)
Tasted by jjlobi on 8/21/2014 & rated 89 points: Very smooth (2444 views)
Tasted by CBJB on 11/17/2013 & rated 90 points: This one really lived up to the reviews. PnP through a Vinturi. The upfront jamminess fell off as the glass opened up. Medium body with just a touch of spice. Bramble and black fruit on the finish. Great QPR. (3306 views)
Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 11/9/2013 & rated 92 points: This is maturing nicely, coming in well above its pay grade. It bites for the first hour but settles down with aromas of dark fruit and some spice, mostly eucalyptus and licorice. It's a good cocktail drinker but blends well with spicy pork and chipotle black beans. Balanced flavors of dark fruit, graphite licorice and leather. The finish is just right-mouth drying with a touch of burn and a fair amount of peppery cocoa. (2482 views)
Tasted by SonnyJay on 9/9/2013: Ran it through a Vinturi since I got home late and I'm impatient. Classic Sonoma zin - every red and black fruit jam imaginable. Moderate/light tannin. Not the most complex wine ever, but enjoyable, and at $13 it's tough to beat. Nice little WTSO special. (2052 views)
Tasted by Kesslerc14 on 7/29/2013 & rated 90 points: Strong black cherry and hints of raspberry and blackberry. Moderate tannins with a medium finish layered with black cherry.

Great WTSO, sad to see it go. (2058 views)
Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 7/16/2013 & rated 90 points: Slightly improved from a few months ago (1969 views)
Tasted by SSGibson on 7/9/2013 & rated 89 points: Consistent with prior note. Nice weekday Zin and a good value for $13. Give it a little time to open up. Will buy more if I get the chance. (936 views)
Tasted by SSGibson on 6/1/2013 & rated 89 points: Nicely integrated dark fruit with enough spice and complexity to keep it interesting. Easy drinking and great value Zin ($13) that went well with summer BBQ and later in the evening on its own. (1071 views)
Tasted by LEXKYWINE on 3/12/2013 & rated 89 points: Needs to breathe an hour then has a muted nose of dark fruit and a touch of oak. A mouth full of dark berries with lacings of oak and coffee, some licorice hiding in there too. Shows good structure and heat on the finish with a peppery overlay. Improved as the evening went on. (1191 views)
Tasted by vinodolphin on 2/24/2013 & rated 90 points: We enjoyed this and shouldn't have opened the second bottle so soon. Now we have to wait untell next year for the last two. (1129 views)
Tasted by vinodolphin on 2/18/2013 & rated 90 points: This was a surprisingly nice find. Great QPR. (1058 views)
Tasted by Lesha on 1/24/2013 & rated 90 points: Nice easy drinking Zin (1227 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 1/13/2013 & rated 89 points: Similiar notes. Good QPR. (1180 views)
Tasted by budh on 1/12/2013 & rated 89 points: Raspberry, cherry on the nose. That along with vanilla and pepper and hint of licorice on the palate. Medium finish. Decent balance, but a tad acidic. Subtler Zin, as other CT users say. Better on second and third day. (858 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 12/10/2012 & rated 89 points: A nose of sweet black cherry and spice, medium garnet in color. A medium bodied Zin, with cherry, raspberry, some pepper and vanilla on finish. A elegant Zin, very good QPR. (980 views)
Tasted by bean1003 on 11/26/2012 & rated 90 points: Second bottle. First was very Nice surprise. This bottle was good on night one but even better on night two. Nose and finish really improved over night. (1114 views)
Tasted by Samdrew92 on 11/19/2012 & rated 90 points: Great value Zin. (1037 views)
Tasted by vinodolphin on 11/19/2012 & rated 90 points: Another great performance. Finished the bottle. (950 views)
Tasted by MuseMaven on 9/24/2012 & rated 90 points: No need to spout about it - great mid-weeker, terrific QPR. (1519 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
