| Community Tasting Notes (average 91 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Loekkeboe on 8/6/2015 & rated 91 points: Fine. Mature. Has been holding up nicely - but still: Drink up soon.
Fun fact: backlabel says that it should be drunk between 2001 and 2007. (3119 views) | | Tasted by thijsseg on 3/31/2007 & rated 93 points: Realy top, still young !!!! Will buy more. (3719 views) | | Tasted by thijsseg on 10/16/2006 & rated 90 points: prima op dronk, eerder zware volle wijn (3581 views) | | Tasted by Paul from the Oblong Table on 3/9/2006: 2ND bottle even better than the first. (2879 views) | | Tasted by Paul from the Oblong Table on 12/26/2005 & rated 90 points: FULL BODIED, full of fruit, good nose and wonderful lingering taste. Did I leave anything out? Run by the Chaudiere family in the town of Mormoiron Producer Location (Google Maps)Red Rhone Blend Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.
A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
