| Community Tasting Notes (average 89 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 9 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Bloms on 6/4/2013 & rated 91 points: - Light gold color - Crisp, clean, nice. (1513 views) | | Tasted by Rich S on 3/19/2013 & rated 90 points: Pale straw color with frizzante in the glass. Aromatic nose of tropical fruit, citrus, a bit of fresh cut grass and herbs. On the palate the wine showed primarily tangy grapefruit flavors with a bit of melon. Strong acidity made this wine feel slightly sharp on the palate but it finished well. Versatile food pairing wine. Ehlers makes one of my favorite Cali sauvignon blancs each year and this was no exception. (1511 views) | | Tasted by K28226 on 8/12/2012 & rated 91 points: Crisp, light, pear and citrus (1702 views) | | Tasted by Fateful Destiny on 6/26/2012 & rated 90 points: Floral nose with some tropical notes on the palate. Strong acidity. Overall good enjoyable wine, but I think the acidity is a bit high if critiquing the wine. (1702 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
