Tasted by Madkat on 1/21/2019 & rated 92 points: Really special right now. Still plenty of flavorful punch but with finesse and balance. Bright with dark red fruits, acidity and a silky spicy finish. Last bottle. Should have saved all for now. (1046 views)
Tasted by Kahnru12 on 5/28/2016 & rated 92 points: Very bright & fruity. Slightly spicey, well balanced. (1664 views)
Tasted by brminz on 11/14/2015 & rated 92 points: Needs time and air to smooth out but complex smooth once aerated. (1880 views)

Tasted by lvjohn on 1/12/2014 & rated 92 points: Very nice wine. This one is not massive as some old vines can be. It's more balanced and restrained. (2254 views)
Tasted by Ron&nina on 9/25/2013 & rated 92 points: Heavy fruit and quite jammy. Nice balance and pleasant on the pallet. Lots of time left on this wine. (1678 views)
Tasted by nieuwoudt on 8/5/2013 & rated 91 points: really started to open up after 45 minutes.. still needs some more time in the bottle - very big boy with amazing fruit but a bit too much alcohol on finish. (1639 views)
Tasted by lvjohn on 5/13/2013 & rated 93 points: Still young and showing all kinds of greatness already. This wine is quite drinkable now, but will show more depth with at least 2 more years of bottle aging. (995 views)
Tasted by mraabpfg on 4/2/2013 & rated 92 points: solid Zin (922 views)
Tasted by Ron&nina on 3/13/2013 & rated 91 points: Quite hot, nice fruit and very light tannins. A little jammy in the middle but the heat takes over on the end. (814 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
