Tasted by EdKz@comcast.net on 4/21/2017 & rated 93 points: purple, aromas of muted dark fruit & funk, muted flavors of blackberry, bramble, cassis, good acid, and tannin, medium long finish, extraordinary old world style qpr@ $17. drink soon. (721 views)

Tasted by WineAggregate on 10/1/2014 & rated 89 points: A blackberry and tar bomb. Very concentrated but great flavors of rough fruit. A bit of a shock, and tough to drink in great quantity. (1842 views)
Tasted by WineAggregate on 11/30/2013 & rated 89 points: Tart and lively, very nice. (2198 views)
Tasted by TashNYC on 5/23/2013 & rated 90 points: Delicious wine. Good fruit - dark fruit plus raspberries and cherry - with some spice and pepper on the finish. Not jammy or over-extracted and hid its 15% alcohol quite well. Best with 3 meat French bread pizza. (2391 views)
Tasted by chanote44 on 4/7/2013 & rated 90 points: Green & Red are making some fabulous Zins. Give this 1/2 hour air to really shine. (1840 views)
Tasted by budh on 3/10/2013 & rated 90 points: I liked this better than I did six months ago. Similar aroma and taste - brambly nose, darker fruit on the palate. Vanilla, clove, cherry cola, pepper. Benefitted from two hours of air. Fairly nice balance (maybe a tad acidic) and finish. Very nice drink. (1 glass okay; 2 caused headache) (1542 views)
Tasted by bobpsi on 2/11/2013 & rated 90 points: Similar to previous note. (1453 views)
Tasted by Jobu on 2/2/2013 & rated 91 points: Really good zin. Good ripe blackberries an raspberries without being too jammy. Smooth with good spice. (1073 views)
Tasted by Thealsups on 11/10/2012 & rated 89 points: Peppery (1079 views)
Tasted by pickhardt on 10/29/2012 & rated 87 points: OK zin with pepper (not jammy), but the fruit profile is nothing like Dry Creek. Dark - not bright. Probably will not buy again. (1268 views)
Tasted by bobpsi on 10/22/2012 & rated 90 points: Big ripe fruit and spice nose. medium body of brambly fruits, clove and black pepper. Medium plus finish. (963 views)
Tasted by budh on 7/4/2012 & rated 89 points: Jammy nose of red berries, but the taste is completely different. Dark fruit, cherry cola, chocolate, spice, oak. Nice, but I'm hoping it's a little better in another 6 months or so... (1112 views)
Tasted by WineAggregate on 7/4/2012 & rated 91 points: Same impressions as first bottle. A great BBQ wine. Let some go a few years to see how they track. (1318 views)
Tasted by vegasoenophile on 6/16/2012 & rated 90 points: Big underbrush, sage and plum on the nose. It's focused on the palate with loamy cherry, briary raspberry, roasted sage and cracked pepper. Has a savory quality. Deep, dark, rich and nice. (1149 views)
Tasted by cmr on 5/9/2012 & rated 90 points: On opening had something that was quite weird on the palate that I can't describe but seemed off. With a little air it quickly blew off and the wine balanced out beautifully. Nice integrated fruit and tannins with just the right amount of acid to keep it from being jammy. Excellent. (1248 views)
Tasted by cmr on 5/4/2012 & rated 90 points: Very nice surprise, thought would be overly jammy but wasn't while still bursting with berry fruit and spice. (1067 views)
Tasted by WineAggregate on 4/27/2012 & rated 91 points: This zin gets a solid "pass". Bright blackberry flavors, a little briary, this zin should last several years. Very enjoyable. (1197 views)
Tasted by khunchris on 4/13/2012 & rated 91 points: One of the better Zins I've had. Clove spice and leather notes. Cherry fruit. Nice mouth feel. Very easy to drink. Any time kind of wine. A little hot, but then it's zin. I like it. Think I will grab a few more bottles. (1173 views)
Tasted by jmotta on 3/29/2012 & rated 90 points: What a pleasant surprise. Not your typical zin. Great bouquet, smooth tannins, nice and jammy. This is a crowd pleaser and a great value. Comes close to the Suhr Luchtel zin which I also enjoy (1106 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
