Tasted by mtwehr on 7/10/2017 & rated 88 points: Zingy citrus ... age has added a touch of richness, but not complexity. (1371 views)
Tasted by Rolandus on 1/8/2015: It's kinda warm (2315 views)
Tasted by jsherdc on 12/20/2014 & rated 89 points: Similar to a sauvignon blanc. Tasty. Better chilled. (2199 views)
Tasted by geeky? not sure on 12/16/2014: Zero complexity but very tasty and refreshing. Citrus and high acidity. Almost like a muscadet. (2250 views)
Tasted by circadumonde on 8/23/2014 & rated 90 points: Steely, minerally, tropical fruit, savory. Developed well over 3 days (2671 views)
Tasted by JDRFoster on 9/14/2013 & rated 89 points: Nice mineral acidity, citrus notes, refreshing. (2166 views)
Tasted by tb_baltimore on 6/30/2013 & rated 91 points: Served with cheese and crackers for a small get-together. As others noted, a well-made and excellent alternative white. Nice sense of citrus and mineral water without being overdone in either direction. Pear, lemon, and sparkle. This was best chilled, but still good as it warmed up. (1818 views)
Tasted by wilypod on 6/17/2013 & rated 90 points: If there is a white variety that stands a chance of displacing California's big two whites, this is it. It has zest, bite and citric acidity, flesh, structure and length, and a chablis like character. Whereas new world latitude really makes a distinction between California Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and their European counterparts, Vermentino is itself in both locales. And Tablas Creek nails it. (1723 views)
Tasted by mtaczak on 5/18/2013 & rated 90 points: Zippy, tangy, and mineral-y. Well done. (1770 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 5/15/2013 & rated 91 points: No formal note.
Delicioso.
Floral, tart white and green fruit, med+ acid, tight and crisp finish. Super WFTM. (1450 views)
Tasted by wjochim on 4/16/2013 & rated 88 points: As someone else mentioned: a lot of pear going on. Not very complex, but a competent dry white that will pair nicely with a light meal. (1058 views)
Tasted by SeenMyKeyz on 4/6/2013 & rated 89 points: Could possibly stay in the bottle longer... but still a smooth and well balanced white. Also a little on the dry side but full of flavor. Had this with Florida scallops with garlic butter and shrimp scampi. Amazing!!! (877 views)
Tasted by wilypod on 2/28/2013 & rated 90 points: House favorite, holding up perfectly, zippy flavor, great texture, surprisingly rich, not unlike a quality Santorini Assyrtiko. Much better than Sardinia and Southern France Vermentino offerings (84-85 pts) I've had. Sadly, sold out at the winery. Hope to see more in 2012. (961 views)
Tasted by Annie1 on 2/28/2013 & rated 87 points: Nose full of pears. Pears on palate lingering on the finish. Thoroughly enjoyed with shrimp pasta. (1004 views)
Tasted by Mpoob on 1/22/2013: '13-'16, Tablas Creek (1600 views)
Tasted by urban_dk on 1/20/2013 & rated 89 points: Notes consistent with others. Lemon, lime and grapefruit emerge at first, settling into a mineral finish. Acidity is balanced with a creamy element. Good to pair with white fish like sea bass. (908 views)
Tasted by jonahfactor on 12/21/2012 & rated 88 points: The world needs more Vermentino. This was delicious with talapia and stewed tomatoes over saffron rice. Pale straw hues with nice legs but negligible bouquet. Lots of citrus on the palate -- tangerine, Meyer lemon, grapefruit and some lime zest -- and mineral notes in the finish. (1261 views)
Tasted by mcubed on 11/24/2012 & rated 89 points: A little fruitier than I like, but gave way to a slightly tart (grapefruit) and fresh palate. Went well with smoked fish appetizers. (1371 views)
Tasted by DodgerDave on 11/15/2012 & rated 85 points: Great with dill breaded halibut. Fresh citrus taste lite daisy bouquet (1371 views)
Tasted by THA on 11/8/2012: Perhaps the most delicate young wine I've ever had. A perfumed nose of flowers and white cake icing. Moves across the palate like a ballet dancer. Smooth. Lighter than Sauvignon Blanc, but full flavored. A wonderful layer of minerality gives enough complexity to keep things interesting. Impressed. (1358 views)
Tasted by bzell on 10/25/2012 & rated 90 points: Great light alternative to sauvignon blanc. Nice tropical notes on the nose and great citrus notes on the palate and good acidic finish. At a little over $20 it is a good value for a wine of this caliber. (1310 views)
Tasted by jrkennedy37 on 10/19/2012 & rated 92 points: Surprisingly delicious and better than the 2010 vintage. The acidity is balanced with layers of minerality. Light but complex. (1275 views)
Tasted by CO CHRIS on 10/14/2012 & rated 90 points: 13.1% alcohol...Quite tropical on the nose, exuberant, bit of minerality...zippy on the palate, crisp, dry, citric explosion of the lemon/lime persuasion, lemon custard, vanilla bean...don't over think it, drink this wine when you need a quaffable white! (1241 views)
Tasted by brettdogg on 9/30/2012 & rated 91 points: Dry white wine, definitely can taste the strong lemon citrus. Good price point for this wine and a nice change from buttery chardonnays. (1550 views)
Tasted by keelegl on 9/29/2012 & rated 90 points: Solid as always for the money. Crisp and clean white perfect for summer. (1362 views)

Tablas Creek

Producer website
Tablas Creek Vineyard, founded by the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel and Robert Haas of Vineyard Brands, is dedicated to growing grape varieties traditional to France's Rhone Valley. The partners chose hilly western Paso Robles for its limestone soils, rugged terrain, and ocean influence. All Tablas Creek wines are estate grown using environmentally sustainable practices.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
