Not close to being past age. Can wait! (1135 views) | | Tasted by tautlinehitch on 2/25/2014 & rated 89 points: PnP. Nose mostly blackberry, with some barnyard funk and forest floor. Bright, lively flavors of berries, pomegranate seeds, cassis. Long finish. Pleasantly dry and tart on the palate, very food friendly. Not a "wow" wine, but solidly made, really very nice. (1115 views) | | Tasted by Utility on 1/5/2014: Very good we'll balanced. Paired with baby back ribs.

| Cinnabar Producer website
Cinnabar was established in 1983 by Tom Mudd (1942–2007). A scientist by trade, Tom was inspired by the nuances, challenges, and thrills of the winemaking process. In the early 80s he partnered with Vineyard Manager Ron Mosley to plant twenty-two acres of estate vineyards and built a majestic winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains. After many fruitful years, Cinnabar's estate was sold in 2007 with Tom's passing. Cinnabar then settled into its new home at the thriving Tasting Room in downtown Saratoga.Cabernet Franc Varietal character (Appellation America) | Wines & Vines articleUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Valley The Central California Winegrowers (Official site) | Central Valley (California Wine Institute)Lodi Lodi Woodbridge Winegrape Commission | Lodi District Grape Growers Association |
