Plums and green capsicum with a touch of VA lift. There is an immediate metallic note on entry and that sits on top of the wine throughout and mars the wine. Some chocolate and earth notes. Dusty Tuscan tannins make their presence known at the back and linger through a blackcurrant, ganache, espresso laden finish of substantive length. Intense nose of mint, dark chocolate, leather, a bit vegetal. Dry, full bodied and powerful, with melted chocolate, pepper, raspberry syrup, and dried herbs going to mint. Absolute plonk. Either a bad bottle (but no clear signs of that) or terrible terroir and wine making.
