Tasted by CDP#26 Cellar on 10/17/2021 & rated 89 points: Drank with prime steaks Bobbie and Joe (559 views)
Tasted by Warren123 on 6/9/2020 & rated 90 points: Nice wine to pair with the lamb we had tonight. (744 views)
Tasted by JGirl on 3/6/2020 & rated 93 points: This is aging beautifully! No where near being past, smells beautiful and has great composure. (842 views)
Tasted by DCSteve on 11/9/2019 & rated 91 points: Not sure where the drinking window came from but this wine has plenty of life left. First sip was weak, but after 30 miniutes in glass it really opened up. Tannins have subsided but are still present. Nice finish - it definitely lingers. Very enjoyable. (1010 views)
Tasted by The Real SVB on 9/6/2019 & rated 92 points: A fantastic wine considering the price point. Subtle on the front end but really opens on the back of your tongue. Not too complex but enjoyable with most any red meat based meal. (986 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 8/17/2017 & rated 90 points: I did not read my own notes on this and opened this a year earlier than I had recommended. However, I found this bottle to be open and accessible from first pour. Rich currant and chocolate notes, smooth and none of the bell pepper flavors I have seen in other Napa Cabs from 2011 (not a flavor I enjoy). (1805 views)
Tasted by Rich Storm on 3/24/2017: - Brick color with slow forming legs and aromas of tobacco, black currant, black pepper and dusty. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, smokey and oak with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a short finish. (1786 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 11/5/2016 & rated 88 points: Tight and tannic when first opened. Nice dark plum and currant notes. Over time it opened up a bit but suspect this will need another 2 years at least. (1964 views)
Tasted by Wrkolbeck on 10/22/2016 & rated 88 points: Some dark fruit, weak tannins, not too much going on. Perhaps needed extended decant to open it up. Not what I expect from Hall. (1880 views)
Tasted by iamandyc on 8/20/2016 & rated 89 points: Solid. Rich dark wine thats fairly balanced. Chocolate and coffee notes. (1508 views)
 Tasted by wine4lux on 5/21/2016 & rated 90 points: Solid, unspectacular, straight-forward (1274 views)
Tasted by Cyroof on 4/17/2016 & rated 94 points: Deep and complex - love it!! (1152 views)
Tasted by klmarshall on 11/26/2015 & rated 91 points: Thanksgiving with Carrie's parents and the kids. Good, but not great, Hall. (1101 views)
Tasted by Mech-E on 9/13/2015 & rated 91 points: Decanted 4 hours. Super fruity nose with vanilla and some nice acidity. This wine is nicely dense and more round than expected. I think this is due to the extended decant.... (1295 views)
Tasted by iamandyc on 6/15/2015 & rated 90 points: Very good effort. Rich, a bit of a bruiser, some spice. Dark fruit. Drank well over three days. (1455 views)
Tasted by jimyeni on 1/1/2015 & rated 93 points: Very smooth and silky even in its youth. Lots of beautiful fruit well balanced overall although it was a touch hot. Yummy (1852 views)
Tasted by Mech-E on 12/14/2014 & rated 92 points: Loved it! Smooth, supple, dark!, fruity...etc. Seemingly atypical for the vintage in that it's ready. Now. (1267 views)

Hall

Producer website
Since first working in her family’s Mendocino vineyards, Kathryn Hall dreamed of a place to showcase fine wines alongside expressive art and masterful architecture. Now, Kathryn and Craig Hall are creating an unrivalled destination
in the Napa Valley—where winemaking excellence meets contemporary design to celebrate life and inspire the senses. In 2005, Craig and Kathryn Hall unveiled a state-of-the-art winery amid the legendary Sacrashe Vineyard in the hills
of Rutherford that is dedicated to making single vineyard and limited-production wines. The Halls acquired the historic Bergfeld winery in St. Helena in 2003, and are merging history and innovation with the completion of California's
First Winery to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold Certification.

HALL’s estate vineyards encompass more than five hundred acres of classic Bordeaux varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.
As winegrowers, the Halls have a strong respect for the environment and a commitment to cutting-edge vineyard technology to yield the highest quality grapes.
Through meticulous attention to detail in the vineyards, HALL wines are able to express the unique and diverse character of Napa Valley’s soils and climate.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
