All I will add is that this is fine value, a bit like staring at Lauren Boebert's torso and ignoring the stream of sewerage that pours from her every orifice. There is something a bit nostalgie de la boue in Lauren and also in this cheap as chips wine. Unlike Lauren, the quality here shines through, whereas with Lauren it is the brown that really just keeps on giving; felchers of the world, beware.
I was also surprised by the acid being less irritatingly harsh than I find is usually the case in Oz Riesling. (536 views) | | Tasted by cogo44 on 7/11/2020 & rated 93 points: The nose has the typical kero note of aged South Australian Riesling and with an appealing passionfruit character. The palate has elements of orange and lemon peel in the mid palate with a long aftertaste. The acid profile remains excellent all the way through and supports the appealing fruit again with that hint of passion fruit. Should go well with the flathead and whiting. Pronounced peach, tart apple, citrus and grass aromas. Palate is light bodied, with good high acidity, lemon/lime, granny smith apple with good length. (1371 views) |
