Tasted by edog77 on 3/26/2015 & rated 90 points: Great chard. Nice bouquet of toasted brioche. Palate of tropical fruit and orange spiced pie, white peach, subtle nutty finish with balanced acidity. Eric Solomon did a great job with this one. (3375 views)

Tasted by Alpton on 9/3/2014 & rated 88 points: Quite aromatic for a Chardonnay: lemon, white blossom and herbs with slight buttery notes on the nose. Medium bodied with a crisp acidity and a fresh lemony finish (1818 views)
Tasted by jbehrendt on 8/21/2014 & rated 87 points: A very pleasant Chardonnay at a great price. (1755 views)
Tasted by denisontb on 8/8/2014 & rated 89 points: Unoaked, crisp, bright, delicious. Will buy more (1427 views)
Tasted by denisontb on 7/19/2014 & rated 89 points: Fresh, crisp unoaked Chardonnay. A real crowd pleaser !!!! Fabulous QBR. (1287 views)
Tasted by Good Stuff on 7/9/2014 & rated 88 points: great apr (1196 views)
Tasted by BadOyster on 6/11/2014 & rated 90 points: Fabulous unoaked chardonnay. (1341 views)
Tasted by alixandchris on 6/4/2014 & rated 88 points: Really nice, easy drinking classic French chard. Very, very faint oak. Pairs really nicely with fish and light food. Could be a staple white. (1265 views)
Tasted by Rezy13 on 5/10/2014: Yellow; pear, apple, peach, matchstick, dried pineapple, spice; larger body, ripe, some alcohol, some malo richness, waxy pear and apple, hints at peach on the finish with more tropical fruit and smoke lingering; good. (1134 views)
Tasted by Good Stuff on 5/3/2014 & rated 89 points: great apr (1197 views)
Tasted by Good Stuff on 4/20/2014 & rated 89 points: I have enjoyed this dry, not Oakey chardonnay many times over the past year and it continues to be a nice wine and a great QPR. Works well with fish and by itself. Not very aromatic nor complex in its taste, but a versatile white that is clean to the palate. (1275 views)
Tasted by Good Stuff on 1/19/2014 & rated 88 points: again a good dry white wine without the usual butter of chardonnay (1328 views)
Tasted by Good Stuff on 1/13/2014 & rated 89 points: great apr, very clean, dry chardonnay, my favorite of the year, terrific with or without food, floral but not buttery (1280 views)
Tasted by t4drman on 12/21/2013 & rated 85 points: Chardonnay the way I like it. Crisp, refreshing with little to no wood aging offering that bright and sharp flavor profile and an inviting nose. This is a bargain at $10/bottle and blows away many at twice the price. Load up and enjoy what Chardonnay ought to taste like. (1517 views)
Tasted by kcst1300 on 12/5/2013 & rated 88 points: pineapple and citrus, good with or without food. seems much richer than 2011. terrific value. (1274 views)
Tasted by ziavino on 11/8/2013 & rated 88 points: Nice nose of cooked pears and a slight vaguely floral aroma. The palate shows a fruit-forward Chard, with loads of ripe pear, a touch of mango, and nice acidity. Simple, but good, and a nice buy for $11. (1097 views)
Tasted by Motz on 10/7/2013 & rated 89 points: A little better than the 2011 vintage me thinks. A very well-made, thankfully unoaked, Chardonnay that lets the varietal shine through. There is a hint of unsweet sweetness to this wine, a floral element or something of the like. Very nice. (1193 views)
Tasted by Good Stuff on 9/22/2013 & rated 89 points: very dry, clean white wine, can be drank without food easily but also good with chicken or pork, consistent throughout (1315 views)
Tasted by Rezy13 on 9/14/2013: The Classics Series- Grapes of Burgundy Globally (Bin 75): Ditto of the previous note; one of the favorites from the crowd and hard to beat for the price; French Chard but NOT Burgundy; really need to try this if you haven't. (1502 views)
Tasted by BadOyster on 8/17/2013 & rated 88 points: Not as delicious as the 2011, with a more pronounced chardonnay flavor and lacking some of that salinity of the previous. (1339 views)

For Novellum Chard

2012 Domaine Lafage Chardonnay Novellum

Novellum is a custom cuvee of Chardonnay grown and made by Jean Marc and Eliane Lafage for Eric Solomon. The Latin name "Novellum" echoes "Nouveau" ("new"), and the recent vintage suggests a wine that saw little delay between the vineyard and the bottle. The grapes experience cold maceration with only first pressing. The majority of the wine, 70%, is aged in stainless steel. To achieve the perfect balance of fresh acidity, ripe fruit and a touch of minerality 30% of the wine is aged briefly for 2 months in one-year old barrels. But the real uniqueness in this wine comes from its aging method: it is aged on the "lees" of previously fermented Viognier for three months, imparting a luscious floral character that's different from just about any Chardonnay you've tasted.
