Tasted by Polindz on 11/3/2020 & rated 91 points: Nice, at its peak and should drink well for a few years to come. (575 views)
Tasted by SeattleKen on 10/17/2020: Granted, I’m mostly a pinot noir drinker and this may have been a warm-stored bottle. On opening, there was a pervasive perfume of jammy plum and blueberry aromas. This made me wonder if it was holding up? Dense tartrate sediment but overall not too bad. After 2 hours of airing, the soft jammy notes changed to a very Left Bank tannin-rich aroma. On tasting, the wine is softer than I initially thought the tannin aroma would suggest. The same dark fruit jammy notes, a good amount of subdued tannins, and moderate acidity. Fruits and acidity are generally subdued but balanced. Quite nice and elegant right now but I also wouldn’t hold much longer. As it stands right now, this would be an absolute killer with a fatty steak. If you have a beautifully stored version of this wine, it should be amazing in a few years. (574 views)
Tasted by Volunteer1995 on 4/18/2017 & rated 95 points: One of the most well balanced cabs I've ever had. This is definitely one to stock upon and hold. (1738 views)
Tasted by DanCulpitt on 12/24/2015 & rated 91 points: Good drink; very intense and good fruit for a 2011. Has a few years of improvement left I think given the acid. (2700 views)
Tasted by startinoz on 6/6/2014 & rated 92 points: Leafy nose. Blackcurrant fruit. Medoc! 92-93. (2866 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon
