Tasted by studleytrey on 6/28/2017 & rated 90 points: Wow, 2014 since I had this? Alright, let's give this last one a go w/ our fav local pizza takeout...Looking pretty ruby still with transparency. Definitely getting that Etna nose I love of smoke, ash, earthy funk, herbs, and cherry. Can't be mad at that. Maybe a little citrus peel (lemon, orange), clove, and anise as well. Good stuff. Medium body, acid, and finish, with integrated tannins, and flavors of cherry, lemon, herbs, and black tea. A longer finish would send this through the roof, but still really solid as is. Great QPR at <$20. 90+ (1574 views)
Tasted by macaujames on 11/22/2015 & rated 91 points: This has the most amazing volcanic aromas meshed with neat blue fruits, red fruits and spice. Its medium to full bodied palate has impressive depth, nice freshness, a certain opulence and a longish finish. Top! Was an 89 but an extra 2 points put on for the extraordinary aromas. (2363 views)
Tasted by Kiltedtaz on 1/27/2015 & rated 89 points: Loved the complexity of this wine. Big bold aroma and the flavors are wonderful. Lasted a long time in the glass without losing much of its elegance. (2503 views)
Tasted by Sourdough on 12/6/2014 & rated 89 points: This wine uses a grape (Nerello Mascalesce) that really pushes my buttons. I enjoy this wine above its rating. This is to me a relatively light NM and to me it is a bit like an oregon PN with a spicy quality. Like it a lot! (2612 views)
Tasted by Sourdough on 10/25/2014 & rated 88 points: Nerello Mascalese is to me a very interesting red grape and I enjoyed this wine above its rating. Light red in color. Nice nose of red fruit and acidity. Dominated by red fruit and acidity. Medium to light bodied. (2801 views)
Tasted by studleytrey on 10/3/2014 & rated 89 points: Transparent crimson color. Aromas of smoke, ash, light herbs, tobacco, and some red fruit. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of red fruits, tobacco, and spice. Pretty approachable young like this, but I can say with experience with previous vintages that this ages a few years nicely. Great pizza wine. (1953 views)
Tasted by D'ecluse on 10/16/2013 & rated 87 points: Bij opening veel zwavel / mineralig. Later veel fruit, hoge (mooie) zuren.
