Other drinkers did not feel so, but my impression was that the acid had fallen off more than expected and that the flavors were a bit muted. In addition, the addition of large amounts of butter was very different than normal.

Citrus, mineral and orchard fruit on the palate. Good weight on the palate and a nice match for the dish. 92-93 pts. Showing very well for a 22 year old wine and despite the fact that I find most California Chardonnay rather uninspiring, this was nice. A viscous texture with notes of spice, ginger, lemon blossom and vanilla. I think I was the only one who liked this better than the Ceritas Chard. 89 points. Very nice wine that is deceptively restrained for the deep yellow and rich color/appearance. Nose was a tad nutty but didn't translate to the taste. Slight oxidation on the nose as may be expected in a 21 year old chard. Nose also has baking citrus notes and baking spice, especially cinnamon and nutmeg.
