Round and soft, with loads of fine tannins. Lovely wine. (1213 views) | | Tasted by anderegg on 3/23/2018: Drank as the 2nd wine of the evening with and after dinner of house red sauce over pasta and arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette. Lighter in color and body than the Sangiovese, with which we opened dinner. (1380 views) | | Tasted by WineTally on 5/13/2017: A(ccuracy)=2: Med light garnet; subtly sweet, mellow nose. B(alance) =2: Fine with lean and sinewy savors. C(omplexity)=1: Slightly sweet fruit. D(epth) =1: Average length and finish.

Very nice wine, my go to when I'm looking for something with a little more acid and minerals than a pinot noir at this price point. Solid QPR, 2011 was superior vintage for this wine (2081 views) | | Tasted by pjbeans on 11/5/2016 & rated 89 points: Consistent with previous notes. Drinking well, lovely wine. 2011 vintage was superior (2065 views) | | Tasted by tgang on 12/24/2015 & rated 90 points: Light ruby in color. Light bodied. Dark cherry bouquet. Cherry and minerality on the palate. The mouthfeel is almost slightly carbonated though it isn't. Nice acidity. If you are looking for a definitively Italian, fairly light wine that exudes cherry but doesn't overpower food, this is a phenomenal choice. (1765 views) | | Tasted by TannicBeast on 10/3/2015 & rated 90 points: I really enjoyed this 100% Nerello Mescalese. Fresh, floral, nicely structured, beautifully balanced. Crisp, clean and lively, the label states 15% abv, but it tastes like only 14% or even less. A great example of what high elevation and sea breezes can do. It spends 14 months in lightly toasted French oak tonneau. Drinking very well now, I don't think it will reward aging, although it should do fine for several more years.
