Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 88.4 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 32 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Gregmonroe on 2/7/2024: WWC - NJH1122 (Fort Worth Club): Tasted blind - light straw in the glass, certainly did not look 10+ years old; stone fruit/white fruit on the nose, and almost floral; slight sweetness on the palate - did not have any real grass, cat pee, or melon, but could taste a hint of oak. I was torn between a sauv. blanc and something from Alsace or Italy. I called a 2014 CA Sauv Blanc. (141 views)
Tasted by PSchaug on 5/7/2019 & rated 88 points: Still crisp, seems screw caps do their job. Fruit is still fresh but has started to fade a little. Would not keep much longer. (997 views)
Tasted by jgosh on 2/7/2016 & rated 90 points: Very nice wine with a smooth yet citrusy taste, and a lingering finish. (2767 views)
Tasted by KBowie on 11/24/2015: Very light and fruity (2820 views)
Tasted by matherjo on 6/14/2015 & rated 90 points: Pomelo and passion fruit lovely refreshing finish. (3579 views)
Tasted by SiR on 5/27/2015 & rated 88 points: 12.5% - Clear, med lemon / clean, med to pronounced intensity - lots of citrus with lime, orange blossom, candied orange peel, quince, herbaceous (freshly cut grass) / dry, high zippy acidity, med body, med to pronounced intensity, med+ length, good balance, very nice fruit concentration with melon, honeysuckle and all that citrus component. (3323 views)
Tasted by SuperSomm on 5/3/2015: Light straw yellow colour. Blackcurrant leaves and limestone on the nose. Taste of gooseberries, blackcurrant leaves and limestone with hints of citrus fruits. An excellent Sancerre, might be even better if given some years in the cellar. Perfect with shellfish or sushi. (59 views)
Tasted by Kon.Wl. on 4/5/2015 & rated 91 points: Color lemon, cloudy. Nose medium+ intensity refers to white ash and flint, with broad hints of citrus peel and a pineapple suspicion. Mouth similar intensity, which brings memories of unripe peach, lime peel, vanilla and a hint of melon and pineapple. Characteristic minerality (note: gravel), crisp acidity and medium+ finish. (3016 views)
Tasted by Anthony Lombardi on 3/20/2015 & rated 88 points: Pop & pour. Clear medium gold. The nose shows grassy notes with typical SB citrus aromatics. Bright, acidic SB with tasty citrus fruit. Moderate to high acid. Good freshness on the finish. Very nice, likeable wine. Reads a bit more NZ than Sancerre for me. (1814 views)

(1622 views)
Tasted by rumguzzler on 1/19/2015 & rated 82 points: Nose is of honeysuckle and quince. Flavor doesn't seem rounded out, finish is harsh and the wine is overall a bit acidic. (1229 views)
Tasted by marko2016 on 1/9/2015 & rated 91 points: crispy, fruity, apple, lime, pineapple, longer finish (647 views)
Tasted by thunberg on 11/4/2014 & rated 86 points: Crisp clear, nice acid, mineral, pear, quite long finfish. (1490 views)
Tasted by Timbalimba on 10/30/2014 & rated 88 points: Youthful nose, nettles, gooseberry, passion fruit, a hint of mineral smoke. Medium bodied, good ripe fruit, passion fruit and mango, fresh acidity. Finishes well, very clean, maybe lacking a bit of bite and length but it is a very attractive wine. (1268 views)
Tasted by KarenMcD on 9/5/2014 & rated 86 points: Minerally and tart pears. Pleasant and easy drinking. (1476 views)
Tasted by SeattlePaul on 7/10/2014 & rated 89 points: A beautiful, classic Sancerre with ripe, rich fruit body with notes of pear, and spicy floral notes on the nose. Some minerality adds complexity. Boundless acid with tart citrus signature, but not offensively so. Extremely long, pleasant round finish. Overall a well balanced and very enjoyable wine.  Tasted by Euge67 on 4/30/2014 & rated 86 points: Che l'annata 2013 in Loira sia stata veramente difficile, si sa.
Purtroppo nonostante gli encomiabili sforzi del produttore, nel vino si sente tutta.

Buon naso, molto "verde".

(1552 views)
