On the palate: Exotic fruit, lemon, mineral peach.
medium + finish (899 views)
Tasted by Kris G on 4/5/2019 & rated 90 points: direct herkenbaar als Riesling maar niet overheersend of storend, zeer volle stijl met citrus, ananas, fijn, lange afdronk, 90

A typical Riesling showing, full bodied with citrus and pineapple, ver fine with a long aftertaste. (1002 views)
Tasted by Vinogan(s) on 3/5/2019 & rated 91 points: Inityially white fruit, stone, lemon confit, full style, later on exotic fruit (pineapple), long, slight petrol touch but nicely integrated. (1048 views)
Tasted by liteagilis on 12/26/2017: Dang. I like this. For acid-fiends for sure. Nice spicy nose, I was expecting a slightly richer palate. This still has decent fruit and a good amount of salinity. Then the rush. Tons of acids, so refreshing. For balance I might have wanted this to have a tough of sugar, but alas, it's still excellent wine. (1314 views)
Tasted by christyler on 6/7/2017 & rated 91 points: Spicy and exotic with a nice tingle of acidity. Excellent length. (1647 views)
Tasted by citizen1 on 8/22/2016 & rated 92 points: I don't get the 85 rating - perhaps it was that bottle. I find this utterly enchanting - citrus and white peach, strong minerality and consistent from bottle to bottle. Big step up from their entry level wine. I think for a dry Riesling, it is excellent.  Tasted by NineteenEightyTwo on 5/28/2015 & rated 85 points: Dinner at Alinea (Alinea, Chicago): Light straw color with glints of green. This had a faint nose, starting to show a whiff of classic Riesling petrol. Palate had a little bit of citrus fruit, some modest acidity, and not a whole lot else. On the whole, pretty forgettable. Paired with skate wing in brown butter, lemon and herbs. (2211 views)
Tasted by eoinhharkins on 4/24/2015 & rated 91 points: Solid step up from their entry level wine, after an hour or so decant the nose reveals, lots of white tropical fruit, citrus and a steely minerality, palate is fresh, medium plus acidity which lingers nicely on the finish (1705 views)
Tasted by baroloboy55 on 4/18/2015 & rated 90 points: Prior note by Wingkof says it all. This is a very fine rendering. Well balanced, a distinct Pfalzness but a niceley balanced slightly creamy finish, with all of the other notes the other commenter said, and some texture, from the lees, the barrels or a bit of both. Gret QPR... (1502 views)
Tasted by Wingkof on 4/4/2015 & rated 90 points: elegant classic Pfalz nose, fresh, minerally, white peach, pear, red apples and a bit of smoke; medium-bodied, impeccably balanced, not shy on acidity but it's kept in check by unobtrusive sweetness and a touch of (grapeskin) tannins, again classic Pfalz fruit, ripe peach, even a touch of fragant rose-petals suggesting a mild Gewürztraminer detour; this is a remarkable subdued and elegant offer from von Winning, very classic and confident Mittelhaardt, no woodsy thrills or funky wild yeast histrionics, quite an achievement considering it's only a mid-tier offering. Only 12% alc. (1281 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
