Tasted by Tranquility Base on 1/3/2023 & rated 85 points: This probably would have been better younger. The bottle may have been slightly corked as it had some off flavors. We drank it as the second wine with a 2001 Joseph Phelps Backus as the lead wine. While it was sort of nice to have the richer fruit flavors of the younger and less refined Amici, it was not in the same class. (377 views)

This definitely fell into the range of excellent (91-93):
>100% varietally correct for Napa Cab, bell pepper, touch of licorice, etc-blindfolded, you could tell immediately this was a Napa Cab. Kudos!
>Everything was well-balanced and integrated- not an alcohol or fruit bomb-though a bit fruit-forward and was not lacking in any dimension.
>Definitely full-bodied, while finishing (medium) with elegance.
This is drinking quite well now, but we did let it breathe for about four hours, so probably not a pop and pour, need air. Probably good through early 2020.
Great Quality to Price Ratio (QPR), much more reasonably-priced than big name brands that would struggle to measure up to this.
Highly recommend (1993 views)
Tasted by roybivens on 1/21/2018: Very nice. Much more time left. (2165 views)
Tasted by Kgwilson on 1/3/2018 & rated 90 points: The ascent of wine: Tasted soon after opening, silky swallow, but skinny mouthfeel and strong delineation of vanilla. Still enjoyable, but was expecting . . . more. Sealed under manual vacuum for four days, half volume. (Forgot about it. Work gets in the way sometimes.) Incredible emergence from cocoon. A distinct and remarkably different beast. Horse of a different colour. Give this beauty some time in the paddock before answering the bell. (1916 views)
Tasted by TomOfCT on 1/10/2017 & rated 90 points: This is a reasonably good wine. Some fruits. Not overwhelming though. Had over two nights. Held via vacuvin overnight. Better the second night (but not bad on the first). (2990 views)
Tasted by Phoenix Rising on 5/2/2016 & rated 89 points: Another Eh... Seriously nothing spectacular...Running back to Tuscany or Jordan... (3646 views)
Tasted by tomoem on 4/29/2016 & rated 88 points: At first a rather pedestrian Cabernet.
First hour absolutely not great....... but ok. It does have a noticeable bouquet which says to me that it might need time. The flavor however was very restrained in fact neutral. Simply nothing.

Second hour got better but still a simple Cabernet. I do like the 2012 vintage for its sheer deliciousness, and this carries some of those qualities of the vintage but nothing that would blow you away. (1880 views)

Tasted by Tranquility Base on 1/30/2016 & rated 89 points: I suppose in the greater scheme of things, this is not a "special" California Cab, but it is certainly made with very good juice and does not offend. In fact, quite the opposite. Like most of these, if you let it linger in the glass or maybe decant it and let it sit for a bit, the bouquet does start to fill out and it is less "strong." And I am liking the 2012 vintage for its sheer deliciousness, and this carries those qualities of the vintage quite well. I would buy it again for $44. Is it a step up from Cabs at the $25-$30 price level? Maybe not a whole lot, but it is a satisfying wine. (1719 views)
Tasted by vincemcd61 on 9/13/2015 & rated 89 points: Nice, but we liked the Baldaccu Four Brothers better. Had with Tuscan chicken soup (2325 views)
Tasted by tgang on 9/12/2015 & rated 88 points: Cherry dominant throughout the nose and palate. It is straightforward but delivers nicely. (960 views)
Tasted by Randito on 7/26/2015 & rated 90 points: An average cab. Good fruit and integrated oak. (1287 views)
Tasted by JKennemer on 6/20/2015 & rated 89 points: Tasted from the Coravin 6/20/2105. Black currant and cherry. Jammy nutty nose. Non oak and low tannin. Not a traditional Cali Cab, but good wine. Finish is smooth lasting and pleasant. Would do well paired with a protein, hearty vegetable, or aged cheese. Really opens up over time. Again the finish is very pleasant. (1377 views)
Tasted by Randito on 5/1/2015 & rated 90 points: Smooth blackberry and plum fruit with medium tannins with heavy oak. Simple wine. Noted nothing special, just an average well structured Cali Cab. (1300 views)
Tasted by Tim and Bonnie on 1/22/2015 & rated 86 points: Better on day two after vacuum seal, but overpriced by $20+ (1307 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
