Tasted by hargy on 3/30/2024 & rated 93 points: I think my last bottle was a bit of an aberration - this was delicious with a lovely freshness - no rush (43 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 2/29/2024 & rated 93 points: Leap Day Lunch (Ciao Bella, Mpls): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. This was bright and showing good lift, sweet pear, apricot, ripe apple, stone and nicely toasty. 92+ to 93pts. (208 views)
Tasted by hargy on 11/7/2022 & rated 91 points: this has lost some of its freshness and developed a distinct bready edge to it - needs food - I would be inclined to drink this soon (347 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 5/9/2021 & rated 94 points: Shimmering light medium gold color. Drank 2 glasses over an hour plus. Wow, lovely nose; rich and inviting, filled with brioche and yeast, pear, apple, toasted, ginger snaps, and chalk. The palate has that perfect combination of power and depth blended in this elegant framework. Toasted, apple, ripe apple peel, pear, almond, chalk and hints of cherry and maybe a touch of rhubarb. This was a great bottle in peak form. I wrote: an easy 94pts. (1043 views)
Tasted by hargy on 11/16/2020 & rated 93 points: this was singing tonight - delicious, complex and long - wonderful and may well get better (839 views)
Tasted by eb1202 on 2/15/2020 & rated 92 points: Very intense and strong, very mineral, very dry, flowers, pear and lemon, long finish, nice acidity, hardly decreases in quality even over several days, dosage 4gr, 80% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier
Limestone and clay-limestone soils (916 views)
Tasted by Buick455 on 3/30/2019 & rated 92 points: Very Nice. Drank it over two days. Medium golden yellow. Bright and clear. Minerality. Thick. Lots of yeast and dow. Medium to long finish. (1042 views)
Tasted by Ms. Bubblehead on 10/2/2018: Wow, I like this champagne.
Drank it over two days, the wine got better and better.
On the nose, chalky minerality, rubbed white flowers, ginger, salted lemon peel, on the palate, it showed strong sensation of salinity comparing to most champagnes, salt minerated citrus skin, focused acidity and strong minerality created good backbone for the wine. It is very chalky, but balanced with some sweetness (not overwhelming). (1250 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 7/12/2018 & rated 91 points: This is a big brawny champagne that reminds me of lager and even had some beer like suds in the glass aside from the usual bubbles. Yeasty, chalky, hint of lager bitter and some more usual champagne flavors thrown in. This is not a finesse champagne but dam tasty. 91pts+ (1266 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 7/12/2018 & rated 92 points: A Fire, An Audible, and a Recovery: The Whites Prevail (McCormick & Schmick, Edina): Light-medium gold color. Drank a glass over 40 minutes. Almond nose with nice fruit, apple, ginger, bright, chalk. The palate carries some weight and depth, ginger, tart apple, apple skin, almond. Very good, still youthfully exhuberant and will likely benefit from a another year or two. 91+ to 92pts. (1152 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 6/30/2018: Tasted over 2 hrs
-translucent pale gold-green
-reticent yeast
-med acidity, middle weight lean but somewhat diffuse green apple quinine
-good complexity on palate if somewhat closed aromatically (566 views)
Tasted by Frank Murray III on 7/23/2017: Some richness here, with apple and yeasty notes. Some ginger, too? (1274 views)
Tasted by pdev on 8/9/2016 & rated 90 points: brioche, nuttiness from lees stiring, almond paste, developed style. Excellent balance, lemons. (1025 views)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
