Community Tasting Notes (average 93.5 pts. and median of 93 pts. in 2 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Bsmith457 on 11/20/2016 & rated 92 points: Medium Crimson colour. Requires some breathing time, or aeration for me, for the hot aroma to dissipate leaving cedar, strawberry and plum. Red and black fruits fight to domination. raspberry, cherry, blackberry and plum. The somewhat astringent tannin at the beginning eases into a smooth grained tannin supporting the fruit after a bit of air. A quite impressive fruit forward wine at this age but quite sure how it will end. Very enjoyable on a Sunday afternoon.
Just looking at my notes and apparently I drunk it too early, I was supposed to give it another 5 years. (845 views)

Cabernet-Shiraz Blend

A very popular blend in Australia-particularly from South Australia, where the two varietals work well together. The most famous of these would be the Penfolds Bin 389, considered Australia's most cellared wine. In years gone by this was referred to as "Baby Grange" as some of the wine used barrels from the vintage of Grange.

The 2018 Paternus states only McLaren Vale Shiraz (no Cab Sav).
