| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.3 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 4 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by johnrm on 7/8/2017 & rated 89 points: Almost a year since the last bottle and still good. Some sulphides on the nose when first opened but short-lived. 'Apple pie with spice' on the nose at first. After time in the glass, citrus (mainly lime) dominated on the nose and palate with lime acidity. Still very fresh and long. Good with pan-fried cod and stir-fried Mediterranean vegetables. Later, as it warmed and opened, more tropical, fruits emerged together with orange and orange peel. (441 views) | | Tasted by johnrm on 8/4/2016 & rated 90 points: As my previous note when opened. Mainly citrus fruit but the tropical fruits (incl. mango) were still there on the late palate. Good with a leek and ham quiche. A day later, the citrus fruit and lime skin dominated and gentle oak was more evident. Good citrus acidity. Very long - still 'lip smacking' after almost half a minute. It went very well with sea bass in a Mediterranean (mainly tomato and olive) sauce. I'm sure it will last a lot longer. In the palate, the wine is dry, med body and intensity, fine oak, nutty nuances, hazelnut, walnut, ripe stone fruit, feels a bit thin though in the mid palate, med finish. Very good quality, drink now or hold 88+ (776 views) | | Tasted by johnrm on 5/13/2016 & rated 90 points: Yellowish tinge. A very attractive balance of citrus fruit, herbs, good acidity and with some tropical fruit later. Fresh, lean, not at all cloying. Developed nicely in the glass as it warmed/opened. Should age beautifully but very good now. Tasted at Grand Union Wine Society with Claire Scott-Gall of Mentzendorff UK (546 views) |
