Tasted by Tonythefish on 4/28/2020 & rated 91 points: Medium to deep red color. Lots of chocolate on the back end of this, with black cherry and some graphite. Very different blend to have - some lagrein in their is different for sure. But a fun wine to rink, and we love the label (1758 views)
Tasted by brianofthevine on 11/19/2018 & rated 92 points: 50 C.F./20 P.V./10 C.S./5 Merlot/5 Lagrein? Interesting blend indeed here. Red and black cherries and plums on the fruit profile. Big flavors of mocha, cocoa, sweet herbs, with some subtle floral and mineral notes. Soft tannins, nice acidity and finish. (1619 views)
Tasted by iawcc on 3/4/2017 & rated 91 points: Luscious, simply delicious. Dark cherry and coco, with underlines on red fruit. Tannins we're fine, super pleasant wine (2663 views)
Tasted by iawcc on 10/15/2016 & rated 91 points: Very nice. Well balanced. Sometime I find the alcohol highly noticeable on a few of the Behrens wines, but this was quite well done. Plenty of fruit with good structure and acid to even everything out. Easy drinking juicy stuff! (2582 views)
Tasted by ProfBainbridge on 4/14/2016 & rated 89 points: A blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Sirah, 5% Lagrein, and 5% Merlot. Despite its youth it is drinking very well now, with smooth tannins and tons of forward fruit. Well balanced and well integrated. Plums, mocha java, pepper. Not a vin de grade, but very much a wine for drinking now with strongly flavored beef dishes. (2934 views)
Tasted by GoBlue2002 on 1/9/2016 & rated 92 points: Spring Mountain/St. Helena Day Trip: Tasted at winery / tasting room.
50% cab franc, 10% petit verdot, 10% petit syrah, 10% cab sauv, 5% merlot, 5% lagrin.
A Les blending special!
Well integrated, lacking the overt herbalness of some cab franc (despite being 50% cab franc). Smooth and easy drinking. (3129 views)
Tasted by nttsaa on 12/24/2015 & rated 91 points: Thoroughly enjoyed this wine. Mild tannins. Better after decanting for 30-60 minutes. (2227 views)
Tasted by carlb128 on 12/11/2015 & rated 92 points: Decanted. At 30min mark seemed a bit plumy. After 1-2 hours very enjoyable. Excellent blend with heavy dark fruit overtones. (1591 views)
Tasted by MSBohmer on 10/31/2015 & rated 93 points: Crowd favorite here. Terrific blend with plush fruits and relatively mild tannins given its young age. Built to be drunk young in my opinion. (1547 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
