| Community Tasting Notes (average 84 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 5 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Chomsky on 12/16/2011: Unmistakably Alsacian, with its pitched nose of flint and dried and honeyed fruits. The wine is admirably lifted but the flavors, which are clearly in the late-harvest spectrum, are agreeable and pleasing, but it all ends a bit short and end rather bitterly. The residual sugar contributes to the richness of the wine, but it has receded somewhat into the background. There's no future here so drink up pronto. 13.5%. Mature gold color. Warm, rich dry apricots with some steely expressions. Full-bodied, very creamy texture, little depth and a short to medium finish. Simple, but not really so enjoyable.

A restrained nose, initially a little petrol, then ripe fruit and jelly babies. The taste is quite mature with a hint of oxidisation, well rounded, a sweet edge, complex and very long. (1823 views) |
