Tasted by madvitale on 2/3/2022 & rated 89 points: A lighter bodied Cab, but very expressive and pleasant to drink or have with food. (811 views)
Tasted by Hansvo on 4/19/2020 & rated 88 points: Unlike some previous reviewers, I think there is no major rush to drink this. not a hint of browning, no 'tired' notes, and even though the fruit has subsided and the tannins have softened, I think it will hold up for a while. Quite a pleasant reasonably price CA cabernet, actually. (1342 views)
Tasted by madvitale on 12/2/2018 & rated 85 points: Serviceable, but otherwise unremarkable Cab Sauv. Might consider it chilled, although I haven't tried that. (1771 views)
Tasted by madvitale on 2/11/2018 & rated 89 points: Very pleasant, smooth, flavorful and easy drinking inexpensive Cab. Enjoy and I would drink 'em if you had 'em. (2271 views)
Tasted by Big-DB on 12/24/2017 & rated 86 points: Way better then last bottle.
Great nose (tasted w a cold).
Tobacco, liquorice. Mighty tasty (2370 views)
Tasted by Big-DB on 7/22/2017 & rated 77 points: Garnet in color with an indistinguishable nose. Something not right about this bottle.
Sweet and light in flavor. Not what I was hoping for from a Californian Cab Sav. (2337 views)
Tasted by IstidVin on 2/17/2017 & rated 88 points: Nose has the charcoal, cedar and the baking spices... very fruit forward, cranberry, black cherry, berry jam with just a bit of the spices... finish is spicy, red pepper, and herbs. I like it. (2184 views)
Tasted by arass on 2/14/2017 & rated 87 points: Decent wine. true to character and easy drinking (1853 views)
Tasted by StewartWent on 12/18/2016 & rated 87 points: Pretty straight forward and commercial but not without merit. Fruit loaded, a little bitterness and a small lining of minerals, but otherwise quite a generic. Good enough however. I though ~29 AUD (HKD $155) wasn't too bad but I see it goes for around USD15 in the home market (that's good drinking at the price). (1566 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 4/3/2016 & rated 85 points: Saturated, very dark red violet color; savory, charcoal, ripe currant, raspberry preserves nose; medium bodied, raspberry preserves, ripe red currant palate with some balancing acidity; medium finish (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 5% Petite Sirah, 5% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc; 13.5% alcohol; aged 16 months in French & Eastern European oak and stainless steel) 85+ points (423 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
