| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.4 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 14 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by vvWine.ch on 1/9/2023 & rated 94 points: (50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon). 2025 bis 2040, 94 vvPunkte www.vvwine.ch (730 views) | | Tasted by Vinogan(s) on 4/19/2022 & rated 82 points: Disgusting wine. Lots of spicy and toasty impressions, laced with overripe prunes. The bad side of bordeaux (668 views) | | Tasted by Kris G on 4/9/2022 & rated 83 points: Showing a lot of evolution with coffee and prunes. This wine has a very strong focus on toasted wood and grilled impressions. (674 views) | | Tasted by GARDEN on 3/15/2021 & rated 92 points: This seems to be in the early stages of its peak drinking window. (923 views) | | Tasted by Loekkeboe on 9/17/2020 & rated 91 points: Nice wine akin to a cross between a good leftbank bordeaux and a Bolgheri supertoscan. Very good wine. (1034 views) | | Tasted by robvan on 12/28/2017 & rated 92 points: 6 hours decant required. Pourred the last glass back in the bottle and it was the next day even better. Nicely balanced, with hints of vanilla, red ripe fruit, a smokey touch and round tannins. This is a keeper, don’t open a next bottle before ‘20. (1840 views) | | Tasted by Marius Cavasdan on 10/17/2017 & rated 90 points: Icon wine from hungary 50% cabernetfranc 40% merlot and rest of cabernetsauvignon Villány region. 16 months in oak. Its big bold wine. Deep purple red. Intense nose. Cherries and sour cherries. Toasted oak. Cinnamon hints. Palate is rich. Black fruits. But all balanced. 15% alcohol perfectly integrated. Ripe tannins. Very good wine. (1578 views) | | Tasted by Francois Le Mouel on 10/9/2017 & rated 91 points: This wine exceeded my expectation, I'm being quite severe with my score. This was wonderfully balanced and quite complex. It was very similar to a high quality left-bank Bordeaux (Good Cru Bourgeois level). Selling for approx. $40-50 in Hungary. 15% alcohol and it's super integrated. Cab Franc, Merlot and Cab Sauv. (1807 views) | | Tasted by Papies on 2/11/2017: Not a proper TN here and thus no rating. Arrived quite at the end of a long dinner so we did not have it full attention ( or maybe didn't stand out?) . Dark cherries, light oaky feel, touch rustic in style , good tannin. Felt like an 88-89 hopefully we will cross paths again and examine this more. (1811 views) | | Tasted by andrewstevenson.com on 9/19/2016 & rated 87 points: Huge beefy nose with nice, almost sangiovese-like fruit. Big, round and very open on the palate. Very firm structure. (1527 views) | | Tasted by Meridianus on 8/5/2016 & rated 90 points: Lots of vanilla in aroma, with a hint of alcohol, maybe with a bit of sour cherry and plums. Sharp. Flavor: alcohol, lots of tannin, but not overwhelming: chocolate and plum is still noticeably there. (833 views) |
| Attila Gere Producer websiteRed Bordeaux BlendRed Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.
Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.Kopár Cuvée MapHungaryHungaryDél-Pannónia On weinlagen-info |
