| Community Tasting Notes (average 89 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 9 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by il_diavolo on 4/23/2019 & rated 88 points: Complex, passion fruit (lots), grapefruit and smoke with acidity sticking out a bit at the backend and showing a bitter side that drags rating down. Quite liked it for a SB itch on a hot night, but in the barrel aged style for SB I prefer the Dog Point Section 94. (587 views) | | Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 5/26/2017 flawed bottle: This is not as reduced as the 2014, but the stinky sulphide aromas do get in the way of enjoyment, especially on the finish. The nose is less affected, but overall this is not suitable for consumption. (1136 views) | | Tasted by Sourdough on 3/17/2017 & rated 86 points: Good nose. Nixe start in mouth but a touch fat and flat in the middle. More tropical than most Marlborough. Okay but not great. (778 views) | | Tasted by jmcmchi on 2/25/2016 & rated 90 points: Almost sweet grapefruit, cats pee and gooseberry (873 views) | | Tasted by admid on 1/23/2016 & rated 79 points: Ap: pale Ar: nettle, catpie, passion fruit, gooseberry. Very good intensity. Full bodied, acidity on the brink to bitterness. Dead/hollow mid part. Medium length

Starts as a NZ SB should, with great intensity, but falls apart in the mouth, with bitterness and hollowness. (886 views) | | Tasted by kostaslonis on 1/18/2016 & rated 92 points: New Zealand London Annual Trade Tasting (Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls): Rich clean green aromas of bell pepper and asparagus, with a few bits of kiwi fruits in the side. The wine has rich palate, full green and stalk-y, very fresh for now, big flavors though with ripe pineapple in the med to long finish. Outstanding quality, drink but better hold a bit (1140 views) | | Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 9/23/2015 & rated 92 points: Very light green-tinged yellow color; reduction, savory, light green herb, celery nose; tasty, focused, tart green fruit, mineral, light smoke, celery palate with near medium acidity; medium-plus finish 92+ points (392 views) | | Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 9/23/2015 & rated 92 points: Very light yellow color; fresh, tart white grapefruit, ripe lemon nose; fresh, tasty, tart white grapefruit, mineral palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish 92+ points (289 views) |
